Re: Cousins has arrived

Interesting. I just feel like I never see him make any impressive throws and that wind-up if Leftwich 2.0. Oh well, just odd to see him rated that high. I guess when I look at either of those metrics, sometimes it's about the eyeball test for me. Can't say I've seen him (and some others in the top half) put the teams on their back and carry them like Cousins to Palmer have.

Re: Cousins has arrived

“What I needed was not to go throw the football more, I needed to be learning from a guy who really knows the game inside and out so that mentally I could own protections and own reads and concepts and progressions to where I can do it in my sleep,” he said. “That was going to be the difference for me from being what I was last year to being a much better quarterback. You have to get around somebody who really knows the game.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...face-for-help/

quick interesting read. apparently last year when cousins was 3rd string he reached out and got outside-organization from a QB/WR training academy "throw it deep" and Jon gruden.

Nobody should. Don't we all have an internal bullshit meter? If someone writes a story with no facts provided or sources quoted, then isn't it painfully obvious that it's nothing but click-bait??
It's okay. I am not offended by Schneed's post to me. He is a good poster here, I respect his opinion, and there are actually some things that we have agreed on over the past couple of years. Unless i'm reading him wrong i'm pretty sure he was not attacking me personally, just saying that my provided article was BS. It's all good.

Mike Shanahan also said that he'd stake his reputation on John Beck's play. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Yeah no worries. We've had posters that I've tried hard over the years to do my part to drive away, you're nothing like that.

LOL

While that's funny, the difference is Shanahan had to say that because Beck was kind of the only option he had at the time, and needed to galvanize the team and make them believe in the vision.

Shanahan doesn't have to say anything positive about Cousins now. He let fly on RG3 once he was gone, saying he needed to change his study habits. With Cousins I guess there's an ego thing involved, a 'look how right I was' kind of thing. But to say he can be a top 10 guy, that's going out on a limb when you really don't have to. I think his comment is fairly genuine, mainly because he clearly articulates reasons why Cousins can be successful: work ethic, perfectionist nature, introspective, understands how to rely on his teammates, and knows what he doesn't know.

Yeah, that's my point those other metrics I mentioned have Bridgewater rated much lower then QBR rating which supports what we're saying which is Teddy's play doesn't look as good as his QBR.

Disagree about his throwing motion though, it more of 3/4 or side-arm action then a big looping Leftwhich wind-up to my eye.

A QB that's quietly put together a very good 1st season as a starter is Tyrod Taylor. He was taken in the 2011 draft when we punted on the QB position and took Evan Royster and Aldrick Robinson.

Edit: someone posted an article and you acted as if they came on here spitting out racial slurs. Your reaction was a tad bit over the top. Dont u think? I quoted a line from Stripes which is not over the top. If you wanna play the "you dont know who u r talking to" line there are other Skins boards we will not mention by name that would better suit you. Its why I jumped ship and came to the WP in '12.

And before Mike Joey T. Put his reputation on the line, people thought he was an idiot, blah, blah, blah. How did it turn out?
