Agree with the we already know what Rex is part. I'd like to see Beck play out the rest of the season and see what we may have there.

I don't think he'll be back either. Mac get's his $3.5 and call it a day.

If they do this then they might as well shut Mcnabb down. It doesn't look like DM will be our starter next season. SMH another drama filled ****ing offseason with the skins, god this is getting old

Are you all in?
I don't know who broke it, but I heard it on the 12pm SportsCenter. Probably around 12:15-12:30 was the first I heard Mort mention it.

I know this, if McNabb isn't on the roster next year, I'll be blasting Shanahan for this disastrous trade. If we he's not back in B&G, the first signature move of his regime will be repeating the EXACT same behavior that has doomed this franchise for a decade. Not good.

Side note- does anyone think we're going to go into Dallas and win this week? If I had to guess, we get throttled pretty good, regardless of who is taking snaps for us. We're a hot mess right now.

Re: Rex Grossman may start this Sunday

Probably a bigger deal being made out of this than need be. There's been a chance of Grossman starting/playing for a few weeks now. But as long as we had a shot at the playoffs, McNabb was going to be the guy. Now that we're eliminated the need to play McNabb (and keep Landry off IR) isn't really all that pressing.

I don't believe whether DM5 plays or not on Sunday really has any bearing on what they do with him during the off-season. I believe he comes back for another year

I told ya'll that we were going to be talking about the over/under of this happening. But then again, keeping him from being more battered is a-ok with me.

Lets go all the way, we resigned Bartel to the PS. Lets start him!

McNabb needs to start. If for any other reason, he needs more work to get more comfortable.

It's possible they both broke it within minutes of each other. I'm starting to not even care what Shanny does to be honest. I swear, I just don't care for the guy.

Those of us who are diehard Skins fans who don't care if the team finishes 2-14 as long as the 2 wins are against Dallas! :cheeky-sm

It would be different if we had John Skelton or an unproven rookie we drafted with a plan for the future. We KNOW what Rex can do, even this season...and it's not pretty. He has no unlocked potential or upside, only the high chance for a catastrpohic meltdown. Imagine the "swinging gate" play...that lasts 60 minutes!

Mmmhmm. But, at least there's still hope he's here by then. But, there's no hope of getting rid of his balls in the dirt. Or his periodic inaccuracy.
(Boy, that came out wrong. hehehe)

BTW, I'm pretty sure it's safe to project Nate Allen as having a higher ceiling than Kareem Moore.

Oh, I'm sure Dallas will pull a Philly/NY combo. By that, I mean they destroy us in EVERY FACET of the game. Even Buehler goes perfect.

I just don't follow that logic. You either finish with your guy on a competitive note or you don't. Why fuel uneccassary speculation and put your team through yet another off season saga. Either Shanny has poor PR skills, which he does, or there's something to Rex possibly starting. The mere fact that we are discussing this, doesn't bode well for McNabb.

And how much more disconnected could Shanny be by pulling his starting QB during Dallas week with a chance to stay out of the cellar of the NFC EAST?

I think we'll beat Dallas this week. I happen to not think we'll beat either Jacksonville or the Giants, but I think Dallas' "improvement" under Garrett is mostly a mirage caused by the Phillips era ending after a terrible road loss to the Packers. I'll give it up for Jon Kitna, who has played really well in relief of Romo. This is still a bad team, though.

On McNabb/Shanahan: are we really going to wait to lambast the trade? It was pretty indefensible the day it was made, but at least we could say "let it play out" to see if maybe we got to the playoffs and did some damage there because of a veteran QB. Obviously, that didn't happen, but we knew we'd be out at least a second and a fourth, and that, essentially, the rebuilding wasn't beginning until at least 2011 because of it.

Fine, if you are going to do that win now bs, don't alienate your best defensive player and cut all your offensive line depth because you need more roster spots. The rebuilding hasn't started yet, and all we lost was a season.

Yeah I don't know really. I think McNabb will start quite honestly. But who can say for sure.

I wonder if there's a financial issue at play here. I know he wouldn't get a game day bonus if he's not active (not sure what that amount is). And one of the provisions for the Eagles to get our 3rd (and not our 4th) was for McNabb to participate in at least 70% of the offensive snaps.

Although I think it was 70% plus the Redskins had to have a winning record. Plus, what does it really matter since we don't have our 3rd and 4th regardless of who gets the picks between the Saints and the Eagles

Just wish we still had Chase...
