Im worried that our other linemen aren't capable of it (in terms of getting to the qb) Orakpo will certainly help...but we dont have any other threat to the qb that I see |

Monty is a good young DT he would be starting material on other teams. And unless we were given that type of value it wouldn't make sense. By value i'm mean whatever the going rate is for starting caliber space eating 1 tech/DT. And because of Hayneworth (and Monty's laziness??) he can't get that value because he doesn't start. Losing Monty would also deplete the depth along the DL which is one of this teams strentghs. Hayneworth is a beast he rarely if ever plays the entire season. Having a solid rotation to keep him fresh is essential. Trading Monty decreases the effectiveness of Haynesworth. |

Re: Anthony Montgomery Angry about demotion
what about the chance that a hungry guy like dixon would then most likely be on the team? wouldn't a guy like dixon be montys replacement? so we would get a draft pick and have a formidable dt in dixon ready to step in.

I like what GB said..."you got to be stupid not to realize the guy we just paid 100 million is going to start." Montgomery has no reason to be unhappy seeing how he's a decent player at best. I'm not even sure if he's a legit starter on the Skins without Fat Albert presence.

Re: Anthony Montgomery Angry about demotion
Good point. I wouldn't mind us trading Monty somewhere where they need some defensive help. For once I would like to see us stockpiling picks.

Re: Anthony Montgomery Angry about demotion
Stockpiling picks is a great thing! I for one think this team is doing a nice job of building a good core group of young players/ good veterans. Another draft pick would definatley help in that area.

No pressure at all against NE. AH was brought in to speed up qbs and create turnovers. Havent been a ton of those on the first team either. I dont see a good amount of sacks by our DEs or LBs. I am not saying AH's health is a problem, but he hasn't made the crazy impact he did in Tenn so far.

My thoughts are --- compete. Win a job. Beat out Griffin. Show you can start.

There can be a ton of reasons. If you see my first post, I noted of Theisman said he would be fine by game 1. I think so too. I just think AH looks outta shape as of NOW. I think he will be fine by game 1.

Let's also remember before we start to dissect AH's performance. Let's remember it is only Pre-Season. We haven't even played a meaningful football game yet. If we get to week 8 and the defense looks pedestrian then you and I can start making claim's of AH not helping, but until then remember, he has been regarded by many redskin hater analysts as the best DT in football. Some even say the best defensive player in football. Don't doubt the big guy yet. He is a beast. We are going to be good defensively.

Re: Anthony Montgomery Angry about demotion
I dont think people really understand my comments.
I simply was stating what other people have said about AH. I also agree with those things as I have seen them. Also our Dline/D has been below expectations, correct? Not just versus NE. If I say something critical about AH doesnt mean I think he is now a dud. But at the same time, I will look for these things during the regular season and see if they have been improved upon. I don't see what the problem is with this approach.
