re: Election Day Thread 2008
I think they're giving away free coffee today. At least the one here in NC was. I ordered a Grande Hazelnut coffee about 6am this morning, took the same coffee stained cup back there at 9am for a refill. No problem. |

I know, but there's such thing as planning and contingency. They're running out of paper ballots they were going to use for backup. I don't understand why they're opposed to extending voting hours though, do you?

Was able to hit the polling place at lunch time. No lines no waiting. In and out in 2 minutes.

re: Election Day Thread 2008
Seriously, how can anyone be surprised with the huge turnout today? There needs to be some serious voting reform in the near future, you would think after the mess in 2000 this would have been addressed already. Some places uses machines, others use paper, hanging chads, broken machines, I mean c'mon is it too much to ask to have a standard voting method, and preferably one that isn't prone to breaking down or being hacked or manipulated?

re: Election Day Thread 2008
I'm guessing closer to 110-120% participation...
