Re: What will you be watching for this preseason?

I'll be watching all the preseason games. I look at a lot of things. My key points include:

1. Watching the rookies
2. Watching the young guys, not including rookies
3. Watching the offense to see how well they are adjusting to the WCO.
4. Watching the defense to see how well Jason Taylor is adjusting, and seeing how good our depth is.
5. Watching the punting battle between Brooks and Frost.
6. Watching to see if Suisham is inconsistent as ever.
7. Watching to see how well the water boys do their job.

Okay I made that last one up. Last but certainly not least, I'll be watching just because I haven't watched football in almost 6 months and I miss it.

Watching the WR corps; with the injuries, Billy Mac is looking good.

We have corners practicing reps at safety and we drafted two safeties? Need to keep my eyes on the safety battle.

Also, will watch the 3rd QB battle; Brennan vs Devine. Both are doing good things and making a few mistakes.

I can see JZ being pretty animated, seeing as he ran down Smoot after an INT during OTAs and with his dodgeball drill. He just seems like a character. I think he'll be pretty into it on the sidelines. I wasn't all that intrigued by how handles himself on the sideline before you mentioned it, but now, I am.

Re: What will you be watching for this preseason?

1. I will be watching the receivers. Somebody that may not deserve to get cut has to go because don't second round picks have to make the team or else Cerrato looks a fool? Moss, Randle-El, Kelly, Thomas, and maybe 2 more. Thrash and Mix? Zorn seems to have already developed the same affection for J.T. that Gibbs had.

2. The punting duel. I worry that the new guy could have a hot pre-season, win the job, and then go in the crapper. I hope they factor Frost's history into the equation. Anybody can have a few good games.

3. Safety. I hope Doughty comes through, but speed can't be learned. I think it's a potential weakness.

4. Can the O-line stay healthy? If so, I look for Portis to run roughshod over the league.

5. Time for Campbell to do it. No more excuses, He's a vet now. If he's the deal, he has to do it now.

6. And of course I'll be looking to ridicule the television broadcast, naturally.

4. Watching how Jason Taylor will fit at left end.
5. How the rookies adjust to the west coast offense. ex: Thomas, Davis, Kelley

Re: What will you be watching for this preseason?

Like everyone else has said before me, first and foremost I would like to see NO INJURIES.
That being said I was looking forward to seeing our new slew of receivers, especially Thomas. I'm also looking forward to seeing Durant Brooks do some punting, I'm really pulling for him in that competition. And I want to see Colt Brennan get in there a bit, just see him strut his stuff a bit.

I'll be watching and hoping for a game that I'm not sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, praying for a miracle to happen!! It sure would be nice to get a lead and keep it, and win without our guys always FIGHTING THEIR GUTS OUT!!

I will be watching to see how many times Jim Sorgi gets put on his ass.
How many times Quinn Gray gets put on his ass.
How many times Jared Lorenzen puts one of our 3rd string LB's on their asses.

Re: What will you be watching for this preseason?

1) Watching the QB's: Most notably JC, but I am interested in seeing Colt Brennan battle Derek Devine for the #3 spot.

2) Watching the rookies: Thomas, Davis, and Kelly will be under a microscope for me more so than any of the other rookies. I wanna see how well they fair early on with the quarterbacks and against the competition.

3) Watching the offense: I wanna see more contemporary offensive sets! 3, 4, & 5 WR formations, trips shotgun, bunch formations, and the complementary running game that will follow. Our "O" has loads of potential, and I wanna see it maximized and not restricted like it was with Gibbs

4) Watching the defense: The biggest thing that I would like, and hope, to see is how much Jason Taylor effects the rest of the defense. I wanna see his pressure cause interceptions, I wanna see his double teams open up any other lineman for sacks, and I wanna see him show why he is a perennial pro-bowler(but I wanna see that done in burgundy and gold, and not in Teal and Neon Orange...ewww)

The Skins will be tough this year, and we start on Sunday! Can't wait. Training camp visits (First day and Fan Appreciation day) were not enough for me. I need full scale head bussage from Laron, and I need the '08 posse in full effect to cure me and the rest of us from this lethargy that surrounds the sports world once Basketball goes off and baseball takes over.

Hurry SUNDAY, HURRY!!!!

Re: What will you be watching for this preseason?

I just want to see Art Monk and Darrell Green standing on the sidelines with the team once again. And then Brian McMullen burns triple coverage catches a first down runs over a dude and scores a touchdown............All of this right in front of Monk, who will then say, "Wow, this guy reminds me of me when I was younger!"
