Glad to see Mosby on there she is awful. All the things in there about her are true. She should have been bounced by voters after the Freddie Gray debacle. That was a slam dunk case against one officer, instead she charged every single officer to come in contact with him. Completely started the alienation of our police force and he route down the de-prosecution of criminals.

This story just keeps getting worse

Texas official says Uvalde classroom door was unlocked, calls police response an 'abject failure'

Man, the video of cops standing around and even retreating to the sound of gun shots, some of them looking at their phones, knowing that little kids are being killed... really tough to stomach

Video Deepens Uvalde Families’ Pain as Questions on Response Remain

Not going to lie , I saw it once and I started to cry. I won't watch it ever again. All the Police there should go to jail. The lawsuits alone will bankrupt the Town.

Context matters.

I'm not stupid enough to defend the LE approach in Uvalde - the "sit on your ass and wait for tactical" approach hasn't been in use since Columbine for good reason. But maybe this officer was checking his phone so he could make contact with his wife to make sure she was ok. Either way - his wife is dead so I don't feel the need to shit on him for checking his phone.

I think this one falls on leadership because the leadership in place failed with their response and nobody else was willing to step up and take charge. Kids - and his wife - most likely died because they bled out while everybody was standing around.

Guess the LE around the US needs to tighten up before the next one - because some of us are comfortable with the status quo and would rather innocent people die than not allow a pissed off 18 year old to buy an AR-15.

I’m aware of that one cops situation conversing with his wife, maybe that’s what they were all doing when they were looking at their phones, who knows, the optics aren’t great regardless. Really wasn’t the point though, bottom line is kids were dying while the cops did nothing. I wasn’t trying to single out that one guy. The whole situation was so fucked up. Those families deserve answers.

Good read here about a DC cop who started believing the MAGA conspiracy theories and leaked the name of the main witness to Seth Rich's murder to some far-right conspiracy blogger who then exposed her on his show so she would be doxxed.

The crazy part is where he was exposed and he resigned rather than face a 30 day suspension (because leaking the identity of a witness and exposing her to harassment is n't betraying the public trust instilled in you as a cop right?).

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/13/us/po...ths/index.html

Intentional killings of law enforcement officers reach 20-year high, FBI says

Among felonious deaths of officers last year, 25 were killed in "unprovoked" attacks through December 27 of last year, according to the FBI. It's a marked increase from previous years, which usually see the number of officers killed in unprovoked attacks in the low single-digits. In 2020, just two officers were killed in this manner.

Anti police rhetoric directly responsible for this

Do you ever read the links you put up? Second question for you, do you think bad policing has anything to do with it? No Police Officer should be a target , their job is a thankless one and I support them 100% but my question to you is could this be a result of bad policing.

Police getting shot in ambush style, unprovoked attacks is bad policing?

“But”

This is kinda like what I’ve heard the last 24 hours where I found out if you go running at 430 in the morning, well you should expect to be abducted and killed.
