Same coach, same QB.

I think that Snyder is starting to recognize this. I don't think he minds spending every penny of the cap. The team makes plenty of cash. They always seem to be able to pay for the player they want but only as much as they deem he is worth. The problem is that they don't always understand what a player is worth...

no. even though they were both holding out, just because moss got his handled doesn't mean taylor will get his handled. in fact, this is probably gonna make taylor think they will meet his demands.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

This deal is fine. it is good. i don't think we overpaid. other sites say 25 or 26.25 so we don't know it all and we will wait for the big announcement. If it is in the 25 range it is a great deal at 31 i think that it is fine. and i don't think that this will spur up Taylor and give him any backing. What backing will he have? You guys signed a player that just joined the team? I just think it may leave him all alone in critism

BY THE WAY AT WIZ TIME THE WIZ AREW WINNING BY 14!!

The skins reported

http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=6960

The Redskins have agreed to a contract extension with wide receiver Santana Moss, the team announced on Wednesday. Moss's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was at Redskins Park on Wednesday finalizing the contract extension.
The team has scheduled a Thursday afternoon press conference to discuss the contract extension. Check back with Redskins.com on Thursday for complete coverage, including live audio of the press conference.

Moss is expected to be on hand for the press conference. He is also expected to participate in the team's voluntary off-season workout program starting Thursday.

Santana Moss
The Redskins acquired Moss on March 10 in the well-publicized trade that sent unhappy wide receiver Laveranues Coles to the New York Jets.

Moss, 25, played four seasons with the Jets and accumulated 151 receptions for 2,416 yards and 19 touchdowns.

The 5-10, 185-pound wide receiver out of Miami (Fla.) finished the 2004 season with 45 receptions for 838 yards and a team-high five touchdown grabs.

In the AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, Moss logged a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown.

In 2003, Moss set career highs with 74 receptions for 1,105 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Moss entered the league in 2001 as a first-round (16th overall) draft choice by the Jets.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

This guy has done nothing to warrent 5 mil a year and 11 mil upfront IMO. Sadly though he's the Redskins best WR and an integral part of next season.

I wonder if he would have showed up and played out the contract without an extension. I would rather he played a full seaosn for us and earned that money before we opened the cash register.

O I C now, makes sense we could have waited till the end of his 1 year deal.

But what if he is good 1 year, then he will want hella mulla or he goes to another team. Smoot like situation. But it is a safty net not signing him because he may suck it up.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

Ah well....at least I'm not the one making the checks out! LOL

So this is the big news? If so, I'm kind of disappointed, because I was sure Moss would've signed sooner or later anyways.

At least now we'll see him getting in there with the team and working out. He had better live up to that contract though!

class-act like pierce? give me a break, all he talked about was being a team guy and how badly he wanted to return to the skins, then he leaves for new york for just a little more money then we offered. he did not deserve to be payed more money than marcus washington. screw pierce, i hope portis out runs him all the way to the endzone.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

I kinda think Moss for $26.5 over 5 years is a pretty good deal. That's not overpaying at all, especially considering there is a clause included in the contract that some of the cash is contingent upon the number of snaps he plays. Find me a receiver of his talent level that you can get for a better deal.

Moss had a hamstring injury last year, that's why his stats weren't great. But he sure looked fine in the playoffs, catching that bomb from Pennington and returning the punt for TDs. As long as he's healthy, he's worth this money. And if he's not healthy, he won't get paid as much. I think it's fine.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

IT's all about the yards per catch... If he stays healthy, it's a good deal.

i just hope their is injury clauses that lessen the hit if he is injured alot,or incentive clauses that would protect in case he turns out to be made of china

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

I think $5 million per season for a WR isn't as much as it used to be. WRs are expensive, that's just a fact of life. I don't think Moss is a bargain at this price, but I don't think we overpaid. Sounds right on the money to me.
