If Shanahan had done this at some other point in the game, then MAYBE you could put some rational behind it, but this was ridiculous.

Grossman isn't even the 3rd best QB on the team....and I forget who the 3rd guy is.

You let McNabb win the game or lose it.
Now, he may even question wanting to be with the Skins for a contract extension
A real head scratcher for sure, I don't get it either.

I will never forget this statement from Joe Theismann

"As a NFL QB you don't have to be the reason your team won the game, but you damm sure can't be the reason your team lost the game"

And Mcnabb was the reason

we do not have any WRs and no O-line what do you want him to do.....peyton manning would just quit if he had to play with this team

And no way, there is a zero percent chance grossman starts the next game.

I respect the decision that the coaching staff has made because they obviously know this team and its personnel better than you or I do.

I'm not a guy that likes to fan the flames of controversy, so i made the statement that I did because i wanted to point out that I will support the team and the decisions they make. I'm not going to create controversy by saying that benching McNabb was a bad move, or by saying that i know for a fact that Rex is the better option.

I am saying that i trust them to make the right decision, and that by inserting Grossman, maybe they believe that he can run the offense better and gives this team a better chance going forward.

My personal opinion is that regardless of WHO was put in to replace McNabb, now is the right time to do it because the team is at .500, and the new starter has 2 full weeks to work with the first team and sharpen up a bit. The team still has a chance to make the playoffs and a new QB might just be the spark they need. Just my 2 cents...

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

Rex Grossman will certainly not be the starter.
I believe the only reason he is on the team was to mentor the other QB's and mostly mentor the WR's on where they are supposed to run routes in practice.
No one thinks Grossman is even remotely close to McNabb in terms of ability.
I don't even think Grossman can throw more than 30 yards.

This is just Shanny sticking his finger in another key player's eye...because he can.
Moron move.
Thats what blamers do...how about taking some ownership for bad blocking scheme decisions?

I wasn't expcting to be benched with the team only down 6 for Rex Grossman but he is clearly not the same guy. This team is damm lucky to be 4-4 because they could easily be 2-6.
Are you seriuous!!! He is better than what we had and anything we have!!!! Yes, he made some mistakes the one TO we had today(int) but jeeeeeeeeeze our oline is beyond horrible!!!!!!!1

is our o-line better this year or last year????????????? we got owned up front but those were some freaking beast's that Detroit has up front!!!!!!!!

Says Grossman is more comfortable with offense and capable of running 2 min offense

Not really words of encouragement for McNabb when Shanahan says Grossman understands the offense better, is better In the 2 minute and gave the team a better chance to win. Still think McNabb starts though

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

Okay so that is just confirming what some of us thought. Grossman may not be the better QB than McNabb, but at this point, Rex knows the offense better and gives us a better chance to win. He could be the "Todd Collins" of this offense. I say give him a chance.

By the way, Fanatic don't feel the need to start a thread right after every game
