And to answer Firstdown's question re: how I feel about what Reid said, I'm against it. But the key difference is that Reid is giving pre-election rhetoric, whereas the GOP followed through on their obstructionist agenda. If Romney wins, and the Dems followed suit and obtusely blocked meaningful, reasonable legislation... I'll be very disappointed.

Re: Official 2012 Election Day Thread
Snap. Obama posting on Reddit this evening.
Reddit, this is important : politics Quote:
Reddit is also responsible for getting that voting machine removed in PA. Had CNN reporters on that thread getting details, next thing you know it blows up in the news. Good work Redditors!

Obama represents different things to different people. Regardless of reality, many (or most) view Obama as the face of an ideology thats championed by some and anguished by others. Hes hated as much as hes loved, which unfortunately leaves little room for compromise. He is going to be in a major uphill battle to change those perceptions and get government to work together. In large part thats why i didnt want Obama to win. Congress didnt lose control, and no one thought they would, so to me Obama winning means 4 more years similar to the last 2. And unless we see some big turnarounds in the national debt, unemployment, and the economy i suspect we could see partisanship after the 2014 elections that make the last 2 years look like a honeymoon between two 18 year olds that just eloped. He has his work cut out for him, hopefully the 4 years of experience has will serve him well this go around.
