I find this pretty interesting. If you dont mind me asking, who was the last R. president you voted for? And what state are you in?

I voted for McCain, as I felt he was a much better leader than a campaigner, and didn't feel Obama had the executive experience necessary. That said, I did it with serious reservations because of his horrendous VP choice... I'm in PA btw.

And to answer Firstdown's question re: how I feel about what Reid said, I'm against it. But the key difference is that Reid is giving pre-election rhetoric, whereas the GOP followed through on their obstructionist agenda. If Romney wins, and the Dems followed suit and obtusely blocked meaningful, reasonable legislation... I'll be very disappointed.

Snap. Obama posting on Reddit this evening.

Reddit, this is important : politics

I want to thank you all again for the reception you gave me in August for my AMA. Good questions. Definitely not bad.

I'm checking in because polls will start closing in this election in just a few hours, and I need you to vote.

Millions of Americans have stepped up in support of this campaign over the last 19 months, and today we decide what the next four years look like -- but only if we show up.

I ask that you go out there and cast your vote, whatever your political persuasion.

You can confirm your polling location here:

If you’ve voted already, don't stop there -- spread the word to your friends, roommates, and neighbors. Think of it as upvoting.

Reddit is also responsible for getting that voting machine removed in PA. Had CNN reporters on that thread getting details, next thing you know it blows up in the news. Good work Redditors!

Ive felt that Obama and the dems created the partisanship by forcing the healthcare bill through. So while republicans have been using obstructionist tactics, that what they were elected to congress to do. Theyre merely representing their constituents. That said, more people obviously voted feeling the way you do, than feeling they way I do. I was really hoping for an Obama loss coupled with a Tim Kaine win, as that would have singled a comprise mentality to me. Instead things feel decidedly split.

Obama represents different things to different people. Regardless of reality, many (or most) view Obama as the face of an ideology thats championed by some and anguished by others. Hes hated as much as hes loved, which unfortunately leaves little room for compromise. He is going to be in a major uphill battle to change those perceptions and get government to work together.

In large part thats why i didnt want Obama to win. Congress didnt lose control, and no one thought they would, so to me Obama winning means 4 more years similar to the last 2. And unless we see some big turnarounds in the national debt, unemployment, and the economy i suspect we could see partisanship after the 2014 elections that make the last 2 years look like a honeymoon between two 18 year olds that just eloped. He has his work cut out for him, hopefully the 4 years of experience has will serve him well this go around.
