The President has about as much influence on the economy as he does the weather. There are several key factors here. The global economy is one of those factors, and it affects ours just as ours affects theirs. The second factor is Congress. This is by far the most important as they dictate policy. Only THEY can implement a Presidents plan. Now, lets look back and see how the Republicans have stonewalled Obama his entire tenure unless it was somehow benefiting them.Congress has turned into a dog and pony show. Guess what? If Romney gets elected, what do you think the Dem controlled Senate is going to do after 4 years of the Republicans doing it? They are going to absolutely shit on any and all legislation so they can point the finger at him at the end of his term and say "Our candidate is better."

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)

Unless you abolish the Federal reserve, get back to the gold standard and revoke the legal tender laws nothing that either one of these guys do will prevent an upcoming collapse. Up to 50% of our debt comes due in 2015 and unless the Federal Govt shuts down completely and raises taxes, there is no way in Hades that we are going to forestall hyperinflationary collapse unless we default on the debt. ANd even then things are going to get nasty around the globe. Don't be surprised if we get hit a gain with another spectacualr terror attack, then we hit Iran and maybe see Israel roll tanks into Lebanon again. This is playing out like the crap that happened before the prelude to both world wars.

So by your logic, Obama is an even bigger dummy than Bush since he still increased spending and did nothing to fix our broken entitlement system...wow, we agree on something political.

Gotta love this, can't wait for Obama to be re-elected and see more of this type stuff once ObamaCare takes over the healthcare system.

Mayor Bloomberg's plan to restrict baby formula and reduce size of sugary drinks doesn't sit well with voters - NYPOST.com

Even in the People's Republic of NY, they don't want the regulations on baby formula (now who's trying to tell women what to do with their bodies and their kids) and sodas.

He's not the bigger dummy because he didn't start the wars, but your point about him reducing spending is valid. I've always termed Obama's administration as Bush's third term.

When a Rep. is pres. its his fault and when a Dem is pres its everyone but his fault. LMAO If business perceives a pres and anti business either real of perceived then the president hurts the economy. The reason why Obama does not get the backing of congress is because he shit on them early and often in his administration. Bill Clinton, Ronald Regan, Bush Sr, and other president who knew how to lead could find common ground with others and work from there. Obama has had everything handed to him and does not know how to cross the line to get others to work with him. He is just a shitty leader that does not know how to get things done so he just ignores our constitution and does what he wants.

Any Republicans you want to throw into the mix? Weren't they in charge 6 of the 8 years Bush was in office? Or are prison terms reserved for Democrats? Or perhaps you don't realize this guy is your leader?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)

^^ Seeing the above. I still wonder why some of you continue to bicker about Obama, when the single biggest issue around is something you continue to ignore. I even made a thread on this, and not even one reply. Nothing.

Not busy enough to busy to bash the Democratic leader, but too busy to listen to podcast? Your politicians are bought and paid for.

Your video and point aren't relevant here. Your video talks about lobbyist money, yeah I get that. Lobbyists suck and they influence our system mostly in a negative way. But of every tobacco lobby, you've got a corresponding "environmental" (read anti-capitalist) or union lobby. Obama has taken this a step further by giving hundreds of millions (I think total is over $ 1B) in gov't backed loans to his cronies running green-energy companies with junk-bond ratings that go bankrupt.

You were talking about the Wall St. collapse, the folks most responsible in Congress are the ones I mention, plus Chucky. Bush, McCain, Greenspan and others in the GOP were sounding the alarms but the Dems continually shut down efforts to reign in Freddie/Fannie.

Instead of laying blame on the Ds in Congress, Dems/libs always want to put the blame on "Wall St.". Wall St. CEOs & board-members are split fairly even between D & R and they played by the rules set up by the Fed regarding mortgages.
