It still doesn't entirely make sense to me, and I know we discussed this, why the Vikings were in this in the first place. Do they really need to go through Minnesota for the 1st or 2nd pick or Bradford?

But to your point, they need to sign a FA QB just so we're not "desperate" come end of April.

I'm torn on who that FA QB should be though
What's David Gerrard up to? I was surprised nobody picked him up last season. If he's been working out maybe he deserves a look?

i'd take orton or campbell over gerrard. I'd still prefer Flynn. We need one of them BEFORE the draft just in case we can't swing a trade.

Peyton news
Report: Peyton hits a plateau | ProFootballTalk

could take up to a year to know if he will be able to play again.

If I were the Skins, after he was released I'd offer him as a QB with the understanding he's helping to coach and when or if he's ever healthy he could start again. I just don't think he will be healthy enough and he'd be better served as a coach not only to assist with the young guys but he'd be another young coach to side with KS down the road plus all his knowledge of plays and routes.

Looks like Rob Lowe was correct. Really ashame, gotta feeling feeling might see a press conference a couple days after the superbowl from Indy.

Is there a possibility somewhere through the rumor mill telephone game someone is blending two different scenarios? Say the Skins contacted the Rams with a Orakpo and picks for Bradford or the #2 spot, and then the team contacted the Vikes about a different trade to get to the #3 spot ahead of Browns in order to get RGIII?

Otherwise one would have to wonder what the Vikes want from us or what the Vikes want from the Rams or what the Rams might want from the Vikes that includes them in a 3 way trade.

I don't know. I mean, like I said, I haven't heard any mention of Vikings and Redskins so I can't really speak to that.

Hutson beat people with speed not size or leaping ability.

The "Alley Oop" maneuver was "invented" by YA Tittle and RC Owens of the SF 49ers back in the mid-50s. Owens also blocked a long field goal attempt once by standing under the crossbar and jumping up to block the ball as it was about to sneak across the bar.

I believe Gerrard has a back/neck/vertabrae "issue" and that scared teams off.

If any of the reports are accurate & he's not anywhere near his old self, that is a blessing in disguise for him. He should bow out before risking anything worse.

I would think if anything, for us I guess it would be bad news if he retires Not because the Skins would go after him, it would just reduce the no. of scenarios & options league wide in the QB carousel. I'd still prefer to see him retire rather than play elsewhere or play to a lesser standard.

At this point seems like best case he sits out a year, and maybe tries to come back next year.

I was thinking that, too. Because it would make sense for someone to stand right in front of the goal post on those really long 55, 57 yard attempts that just barely make it through the bottom crossbar. Someone with enough height could probably block it.
