Re: Unbreakable Records
Just like Walton Payton's record would never be beaten? All records were made, therefore can always be one upped as long as there's a medium to do it.

Re: Unbreakable Records
Even the most pessimistic puppy kicker would have to admit-I think-that some records are highly untouchable, such as Cy Young's 511 career wins.

Re: Unbreakable Records
It's impressive without a doubt, but I don't think it's untouchable. Did anyone think Cy would get 511 wins when he started? Doubt it. Who says 512 couldn't come. You'd have to play for a damn long time, but I cans ee it happening eventually.

Re: Unbreakable Records
well the thing about Cy Youngs record is that most if not all of that came against inferiour talent and he never competed against anyone other than white men to achieve his record. He also pitched in an era where I believe they pitched on 3 day cycles. Now a days its going to be difficult for pitchers to break the 300-350 win mark much less 511. To put it in perspective a 20 year old pitcher would have to win an average of 20 games a year for 26 years to get 520 wins and with 5 man rotations and the frequent injuries occuring now, I personally believe the possibility is very very remote.

Re: Unbreakable Records
Tiger's record which is very good will be broken, maybe not in our lifetime but it will fall. With Tigers you have to only beat out half of the field and can be in last place come Sunday. Their will be that special player like Tiger , Jack, Hogan etc that will be better than half the field in any given tournament.
