Re: Preliminary '06 ratings

Re: Preliminary '06 ratings
WOW! Thats downright horrible. How our offense got a better rating than our D is beyond me. The D line isnt super, but they shouldnt bring down the rating that much; especially with Griffin keepin a higher number. Who knows

Re: Preliminary '06 ratings
I'm not sure how they get these overall ratings, but at least we know the Skins D will be stacked with guys like Arrington, Washington, Taylor, Griffin, Springs, etc. Rogers should be rated pretty well as a rookie, so at least there will be plenty of playmakers on this defense.

Re: Preliminary '06 ratings
Just like I said in another post, these guys basically go with what they see on paper (even though them giving us such a horrible ranking for D is baffling). It's like they plug it into a computer. I mean how else would they get numbers for these type of things?

Re: Preliminary '06 ratings
The Madden guys are obviously putting a lot of stock into the free agency additions/losses.
I guess from an outsider's standpoint, the losses of Smoot and Pierce would presumably have a devastating effect on the Skins' defense (or at least their Madden equivalent), especially when the D-line wasn't upgraded at all. On the other hand, the Vikings and Chiefs made several splashy free agency additions to their defenses, so you would expect their ratings to go up... Personally, I've been modifying the league rosters on Madden 2005 ever since free agency started, creating draftees, and altering the players' attributes to more accurately reflect (at least in my mind) the players' real-life abilities. I think my version of the Skins' defense will be rated a little bit higher than 74. ![]() I always like to do that in the offseason to see how my projected team and player ratings compare to the ratings in the new game when it comes out. Yeah, I know, it's totally geeky-- but I get pretty damned bored in the offseason. ![]() |

and there's no way the offense should be at 82 or whatever it is. It should be no higher than 76. |

Re: Preliminary '06 ratings
almost every media person who speaks of the skins offense says that the skins have not really improved their offense with the offseason additions, with the exception of casey rabach and the return of jansen. yet the offense get rated higher than the #1 defense in the nfc last year. a defense that lost only a #2 cb and a mlb that has been the starter for only 1 year.

I'm sure our defense will play better than it's rating.
