Actually 60 should be the cutoff line. I base it on the fact that old people aren't quick to react, strong enough and they have a tendency to be absent minded.

THIS^^^^^^

Older folks doing things is perfectly fine, but any type of application where you need a license (automobile, motorcycle, airplane, etc...) they should have to take a skills test to ensure they are still safe.

In this case the pilot's age was not a factor. But, having older folks re-test to ensure they are still safe i don't think is a bad thing, or descriminatory. You have to take a test in the first place to get these certifications, and i don't think its unfair to have people re-test to keep them...
