Roscosmos FAIL

A Russia supply spaceship sent to the International Space Station has failed to reach its destination, it has been announced.

The Progress M-12 M cargo ship, which was unmanned, was launched from the Baikonur Space Centre in Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

It should have reached a near-Earth orbit around nine minutes after the launch but never arrived. It is unclear if it has been lost.

The ship was carrying more than 2.5 tons of supplies, including oxygen, food and fuel.

Great call on ending the NASA space progame, BHO!

Update: Bang!

An unmanned Russian supply ship bound for the International Space Station failed to reach its planned orbit Wednesday, and pieces of it fell in Siberia amid a thunderous explosion, officials said.

Re: Roscosmos FAIL

Too bad for them that we can no longer send a rescue shuttle up.

That's a bit of over simplification isn't it? I thought it was an aging faulty fleet without a timely and funded replacement program was what doomed our ability to get people to space. The real issue here is money...no money, no shuttle. I mean, you have the house reducing the funding requested by Obama for 2012 by 2 billion as part of their austerity measure. It's kinda sad that we don't have a reusable space ferry.
