High School Class Reunions
My 20th (gasp) is this year, there are some events planned and I'm kinda going back and forth as to whether I should go or not. I've always said I wouldn't go to these things, the few people that I still keep in touch with I can see anytime and most others I've either completely forgotten about or I don't think I would care to see them.
Then a old friend contacted me on Facebook and asked if I was going and that kinda got me thinking about it. There are a handful of people going that I would actually really like to catch up with. What were your experiences with these things, good or bad? Is it worth going? |

Re: High School Class Reunions
I think me and one other guy have left my small childhood town. Growing up everyone always joked at the reunion everyone will be like "OMG I have not seen you since yesterday what you do last night?"

Re: High School Class Reunions
We JUST went to my wife's 10th and honestly it's kind of funny to see people act just like they did in high school. It was just a hot mess of drunken people falling everywhere.
In the end we DID end up reconnecting with a bunch of people that we're now starting to hang out with again. Definitely worth it, even though I thought it would be lame.

Re: High School Class Reunions
I had to miss my 10 year reunion last fall but some of my old friends that went said it was a pretty good time.
To be honest I had no desire to go and my family was participating in a Light The Night walk that evening, but part of me does kind of wish I had gone. I'm "friends" with a ton of people I went to high school with on Facebook, but to actually see them in person would have been pretty interesting.

Re: High School Class Reunions
My 10th year reunion was okay. It was nice to see some people. A lot of people there had kids already. It was funny to still see people in the same groups.

Re: High School Class Reunions
My 10th was a blast and we all stayed pretty drunk all weekend. It was cool to see some of the hot chicks that looked like shit and some of the not so hot chick looking fine. My 20th was fun but no where near as much fun as the 10th. There was also no real big change in the way people looked other then some thin hair or a few added pounds. I'm a few years away from my 30th but I'm sure that one will be fun. I think the 30th will be the one where some people relly start to look old and your shocked at how much they have cahnged. I have enjoyed catching up with soem old friends and making new ones.

I honestly have no desire to go to any reunions. All of my real friends are from college...I've only even seen a handful of people I went to HS with in the nearly 15 years since I graduated. Actually, my 5-year was canceled because a guy on the football team died in a car accident just before it. 10-year I just skipped. I don't really miss anyone. If my college had a reunion, I'd definitely go!

Re: High School Class Reunions
I just had my 15th about two months ago. We had a good turnout, did a lot of networking, and caught up with some old friends.
I went to an all guys prep school, so there were no chicks. It definitely wasn't a crazy event. Pretty chill. I was glad I went.

Re: High School Class Reunions
I went to my 5 year reunion, because the bar was across the street from my apartment. It was fine, but it had only been 5 years so the conversations were all "What have you been up to?" "Well, I went to college..."
Didn't go to my 10th or 15th, though I may go to my 20th I went to 10 year college reunion. Sort of. Several of us who were friends back in college and have essentially stayed in touch via phone/email but haven't had a chance to all see each other chose that weekend to have our own reunion. It was a blast. We went to all the same bars we use to hang out in (and got in legally!), got to meet each other's significant others. Most fun I'd had in a long time

Re: High School Class Reunions
Matty, I sat out my 10 year a few years ago and now wish I would have gone. My old crew was mostly there and from what I heard had a great time. I thought it would be lame, but looking back going would have been the right move, because if I showed up and found it lame I could have always cut out early.
