Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves

So they're saying the Eagles are closing in on naming Titans D-Line coach Jim Washburn their new defensive coordinator...huge Haynesworth connection there but I can't imagine us moving him to Philly. Though we reportedly tried to last year

It all seems to stem from remarks made by Patrick Crayton after someone asked him his thoughts on Garrett becoming head coach of his former team. Crayton was a little "disgruntled" with the Cowboys, because the drafting of Bryant meant that Crayton was the odd man out on the Cowboys roster at the time. And he was subsequently traded to the Chargers.

Crayton spoke about Bryant "getting away with a lot". Late to meetings and things of that nature. And he went on to say that since Garrett is a disciplinarian, he hopes that the new regime could turn that around for Bryant and he could be come the next Irvin. Thats all Crayton said.

Then an ESPN affiliate in Dallas took these comments and made a "what-if" scenario on-air posing the question of "If they could get a first rounder, would Dallas trade Bryant?".

It kinda went "viral" from there. But Stephen Jones was posed that question and he immediately shot it down.

Heres a link if interested, but it should put trade speculations to rest.

Cowboys Corner: Per vice president Stephen Jones, any reports of the Cowboys thinking about trading Dez Bryant are "totally wrong"

Probably more likely that the Cowboys let Roy Williams go

Trade him and our 2nd for Kolb and their 2nd? Fair trade IMO

I just don't see JJ parting with Williams. Not because of anything RW has (or has NOT) done. But more for JJ's ego.

Parting with RW after that trade and contract, it would be like him admitting failure. And I just don't see JJ admitting anything like that.

But if RW does go, it will be a release. I can't fathom any other team absorbing his contract.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves

So with Al Saunders reportedly headed to Oakland, the rumor is Marc Bulger will be joining him there

Saunders going to Oakland makes sense. He had a good working relationship with JC and Bulger knows the offense and could be competition for JC as well.

There is no job security being an NFL coordinator.

Al Davis likes Jason Campbell so that's all that matters.

What is it with davis? He get's a coach, then he sours on them and then holds their pay. It's happened with Kiffin, Shahahan and now Cable. Why would anyone go work for this clown?

I also wonder when Davis passes who is going to own the team?

A buddy at work (huge Raiders fan, holds huge tailgates parties) told me today that Jay Schroeder is married to one of Al Davis daughter and also the reason Davis hates Marcus Allen was he ****ed around with his other daughter back in the 80's and had some kind of fallout. I didn't know that.
