The first part of your post reminds me of how Lord Vinny and Darth Snyder were committed to "the process" of finding a wide eyed puppet, errrr, head coach.

If the Giants wanted Cowher why wouldn't they just fire Coughlin and hire Cowher? If they wanted to hire Cowher that would mean they aren't happy with Coughlin, and why would they keep Coughlin around if they weren't happy with him? He may want the Giants job but if the feeling was mutual Coughlin would've been fired as soon as the season was over.

I don't understand when Bill Cowher became such hot shit anyways. He was with Pitt for like 15 years, took them to a Super Bowl at the beginning of his tenure and lost, and took them to another one over a decade later, and finally won. He's a good coach but he's def. no Belichick.

Should be Emperor Snyder and Darth Vinny, otherwise your Star Wars reference does not quite follow.

Yea Rob isn't as good as Rex, he had talent in Oak and didn't do a good job, when he was with Cle, they were bad also.

True, although I don't think he had much of talents to work with? The only Oakland players are worthy to name that Rob worked with are Nadami and Seymour.. Same thing with Browns..

Oh good, I was hoping Dallas would get a good defensive coordinator.

NFL.com news: Eagles fire defensive coordinator McDermott

I wonder if the Eagles will hire Mangini as a replacement.

Absolutely no surprise from me. Sheagles would be an 8-8 team if Vick didn't step in.

Redskins Insider - Danny Smith plans to return to Redskins to coach special teams
"He's one of the best coaches we have period," starting outside linebacker and special teams standout Lorenzo Alexander said recently. "You can't let a guy like that get away."
