Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
8M for an unproven NFL coach? Crazy.
Most of these college guys don't transition real well to the pros either.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
True but the NFL will always have an infatuation for college coaches. Plus with Harbaugh's ties to the NFL, being a former NFL qb, having a brother as a head coach, teams like that and it adds to his value.

Great fit for ole Wide Phillips. Houston has alot of talent on D, Wade probably shift'm to the 3-4.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Who cares if you played in the NFL or your brother coaches? How does that directly translate in your ability to COACH an NFL team? It doesn't and we have seen that proven in the past.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Harbaugh might do ok. He's been running a pro style scheme at the college level. He'd probably be better off taking the Panthers job if it was available since they have the #1 pick and he could pick up his QB who already would know the scheme, but perhaps the Panthers don't want him and then it's up to whoever will pay the most. It would be interesting if whoever he goes to the team makes a deal with the Panthers to draft the QB for Harbaugh and Harbaugh's new team drafts a player for the Panthers and they trade players.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
So the fallback plan for the Niners is Josh McDaniels? Can't believe McDaniels would/should get another opportunity so quickly

Supposedly thats why they picked up Wade. However there also is speculation as to how good the defense will be since the team does not have all the players needed for a 3/4 defense (sound familiar) and the impending lockout/strike. Apparently the other thought process is that if the HC is not getting it done they can fire him and Wade can take over either during the year or at the end of next yr. Maybe it's just me but Wade has yet to prove to me that he's HCing material. Awesome DC but horrid HC. |

Harbaugh deal to the Dolphins is reportedly very close.

Yeah seriously. He was a complete disaster in Denver. I'm shocked he's getting any consideration. It's like if Zorn had gotten another HC gig.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Well, Spurrier also didn't have much work ethic as a head coach. The guy thought he could play 72 holes of golf a week and still make it as an NFL HC . I don't really see that kind of attitude from Harbaugh. He seems like a pretty awesome coach to me, at least on the college level.
I think his 15 years in the NFL will certainly help. He knows the deal.
