Absolutely, the one training camp report earlier in the week noted that Gano's only missed FG was from a bad snap.

We NEVER had that with Albright.

We need a youth movement. Old long snappers are too senile and inconsistent to be trusted. /sarcasm

Never said it did, but you can't agree that hearing Carriker is not only healthy, but impressing Coach Shanny is good news?

It is good news. Given that we have a number of key players on that line that are coming from injury (i.e. Kemo), it's always good to hear that they are doing well.

Call Albright. Seriously.

Sunberg seems like Rabach in the shotgun formation.

Maybe we should let Cooley try it.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread

So I finally went to redskins training camp today and I have to say that its such bullshit that they do all the 11 on 11 drills on the field furthest away from the fans.

What I did see though is:

Gano has great range
Bidwells punts are wobbly and kind of short at times
Jammal Brown sat out most of practice with a strain in his hip..not good IMO
Terrence Austin is very fast.
Carriker is big and physical, and will start IMO.
Wide Receiver is a big question mark for us and looks like the same situation we were in last year with our OLine.
Beck and Bartell should be an interesting battle for the rest of training camp.

Depends on how you view the situation. For starters the line is involved in everyplay so when they suck you notice. With receivers a big part of their success depends on how good your QB is. Also we have a unique situation in that the team could easily use Moss, Cooley, and Davis in multiple ways with Cooley frequently lining up in the slot a la Dallas Clark.

With Galloway or Thomas as a 4th option I'd say we're fine. Besides there have been more teams that have won championships with O-Line play then teams with God like corps of receiver. The Saints are a prime example with a pro bowl RT, the best Guard in the league, and in turn the best Guard tandem. Even the Colts, in spite of their inability to run block were amazing at pass blocking.

Still make no mistake about it. Receiver is a luxury, O-Line is a necessity.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread

I agree with you Dirt. An offensive Line is an absolute nessecity and any problems up front are magnified on every play the offense holds the ball where as the WR position is more of like Dirt said a luxury to have great player their.

No saying that we do have questions there but we also may have some answers for this year in some of the players that were brought in and the guys who are holdovers. I am not concerned with the WR at this point.

Grossman has really regressed the past couple of days. Beck pressure's getting to him!

Kelly started to run some drills with the team this morning, but didn't last long apparently

Grossman is what he is. Very inconsistent.

Classic case of good Rex vs bav Rex.
1 game he'll be near 130 QB rating the next game 48.0 or 10.0
When he's bad he's baaaaad.

He hasn't regressed...this is his MO.

300 yards and 3 TDs one week, 80 and 4 INTs the next.
