I mean they aren't gonna give him that much cash to be a backup, even if he does somehow pass the test and thereby make the squad.
He will eventually complete the test, or they will give an alternate test that still is one of the "normal" tests which he will pass.

Voiding the contract doesn't really get them anywhere, except make fans feel good.

They are going to get him playing, and when he does, his talent is what will keep him from being a backup. If he doesn't play hard in practice than Shanny will absolutely keep him on the bench.
