My opinion of this, based on the games I reviewed and what I saw last season, it's a good move for the Skins. But who cares what I think, what do I know? Well, the guys that are getting paid 7 figures per year to win games in DC have come the the same conclusion as me and many others here....Jason Campbell is not an effective starting QB in the NFL. McNabb isn't a long-term answer, but he does give us a viable starting QB option for at least 3 years. That gives the FO more time to find a long-term solution at QB rather than having to find a starting LT & QB in the same off-season.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I thought he looked loose, but whatever, I was probably just as logically incorrect to appeal to Reid's expertise as Pocket$ was to appeal to Shanahan's. I can admit when I've said something wrong.

lol. I watched it last night and you could tell Reid was not happy. He just looked like he lost his best friend.

As a one year stop gap, I'm not against McNabb here, but the compensation was way too high for a guy with a year remaining on his contract. You've got to lowball that sh-t. 5th rounder or lower. The 2nd rounder for a 33 year old former probowler near the end of a long term contract was the Vinny specialty.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
The Eagles weren't going to give up McNabb for a 5th rounder. The price was at least a 2nd and there were other teams more than ready to give that up.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Really, is Tripp accusing others of faith when he's the one trusting ambiguous evidence and the interpretation of said evidence. He keeps on appealing to "normal stats" like yds, completion percentage, even though it is easy to establish as FACT that "normal stats" have ambiguities that simply cannot be assumed away; silliness like sack frequency UNAMBIGUOUSLY tells someone whether or not a QB has slow feet, even though guys like Steve Young had their fair share of 30+ sack seasons; the only sure thing the sack stat tells me is that the QB went to the ground with the ball in his hand X number of times. Basically, stats are an inference device that do not tell the whole picture, and he loves using this incomplete picture to propagate his snobbery-derived views.

Not to put the tombstone on Shanahan before anything happens, but I think Reid has a much longer leash in the wake of this trade than anyone thinks. Neither coach has a job on the line this year. But Reid will win again in the NFL, and Shanahan's got a big rebuilding project on his hands.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Injured enough to miss two games per year on average (or 2.3 or whatever it is since 2005) is an unmistakable indicator of physical decline. Quarterbacks who have a lot left in the tank physically are the quarterbacks like Manning who play every game. Not the Hasselbecks or Bulgers who missed games well before they were ineffective.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I would hesitate to call anyone who thinks McNabb has four years left a mastermind. Delusional comes to mind. Though you were quite unclear in who you were referring to.
