Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
That was a weak list. Why wasn't Drew Bledsoe added or even Joe Montana if you're talking in conference.

Gradkowski>Campbell is emprically based. They're roughly the same, but Gradkowski wins in terms of pocket presence and decision making. The dropoff from him and Russell was enormous. You're assuming Campbell is like a monster sponge in terms of acquiring human capital for QB'ing such that he can comparably compete with folks in the top tier or near-top tier of QBs. I'll wait to see the day he undergoes such a miraculous transformation. However, if he's to "burst out" in such a manner, then all of those "just as adequate" arguments fall by the wayside since he improved in such a manner that he's went "up" into a higher status. You argue that the benefit of acquiring McNabb is only slightly more than Campbell, and thus not worth the cost. This assumes extreme degradation in McNabb's human capital. I find it highly doubtful Campbell, or any other football player, has such a capacity to learn "quarterbacking" such that he'll suddenly explode onto the scene somewhere. He may be adequate, but he's not indispensible. Deep plays are low percentage by nature. Even so, the Eagles are sure committed to attempting those big plays. I wonder why. Perhaps it emphasizes the QB's strengths? Strengths that would translate in the the Shanahan big play offense? Exactly. McNabb fits the profile better than Campbell. We'll see bootlegs. Don't worry about it faith based. After all, having two Broncos games on my computer surely means all those rollouts called were just an anomaly. Surely a rare deviation from the straight drop back and pass playcalls. Besides, it's not like other QBs Shanny coached had some ability to make plays with their mobility...or is it? Plummer, Cutler, Young, and Elway all could move around in the pocket adequately and scramble. Campbell is a pocket passer, McNabb can scramble "naturally". |

"If a QB is sacked frequently, then he has slow feet." This does not reflect the tape of QBs like Elway or Young, as they both had their fair share of 30+ sack seasons. Thusly, this If...then statement does not hold. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Yeah seriously. I found some interesting parallels.
Moss - Jackson: Jackson is much better right now in terms of ability however Moss is better at reading defenses. Both are speedsters that can break big plays. Advantage - Jackson Maclin vs Thomas: Is this really a contest. Maybe we'll come back in a year and look on it but for now it's like expecting to spin gold from straw. Advantage - Maclin Kelly vs Curtis: Curtis isn't good enough to be a top 2 reciever in Philly but his track record makes him more attractive Advantage - Curtis Cooley vs Celek: You might be thinking who? Yeah this is the guy that put up 971 yards and 8 TD's last year. Cooley has a longer track record and a lot less stability at the QB position. And certainly we can all agree that Shanahan isn't going to drag his feet on the best TE prospect he's had in years. Then again maybe he gets traded. Advantage - Cooley

I going to demonstrate right here and now why no one should listen to anything you have to say when it comes to football. When it comes to balls of of 21+ yards McNabb has a QB rating of 100(According to ESPN). So when you say he doesn't complete many of his deep balls it's total bullshit.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Mcnabb is actually 9/18 for passes that traveled 30+ yards. Pretty damn good at getting it to his guy so far away. Now before anyone brings up his abysmal 2008 stats in the same categories, I do recall Jackson dropping a perfect deep ball against us in the second Iggles game that season.
Also, he produced similar numbers to JC17 in FEWER GAMES. Hell, if he had thrown for 200 yds in the games he didn't play, he would have be closing in on a 4000 yard season . |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
McNabb is not Brett Farve. Yes, he will win us more games than Campbell but, this team is no better than past PHI teams so, why think McNabb will put tbe Skins over the top? Skins will draft a QB!

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
MNabb may not bring us a SB championship, but he brings our offense instant validity. Although we do not have an apparent top flight receiving corps, I do recall #5 playing the Iggles into Division Titles slinging to the likes of Freddie Mitchell and Todd Pinkston. I think he could do good things with Moss/Thomas/Kelly and a coach who wants to run the football.
