Hopefully Snyder can push a bounce pass rule through the competition committee.

I remember hearing that on NFLN. If thats true then Shanahan's an A-hole, but he's our A-hole now

I would presume that when he agreed to the trade his contract came with him until we either extend him or resign him. He has like one year left I think.

I just don't see how by this trade taking place a part of McNabbs contract is now null and void? We basically picked up his whole contract until he has a redo on his contract.
There was no no-trade clause, just something that said he could refuse to negotiate an extension or something. In effect it allowed him to choose where he went.

Being an a-hole to Dallas in the NFC Championship game is a-OK with me. We have a tradition to uphold with regards to that.

Per McNabb in a statement....

Quote:
McNabb is entering the final year of a contract and it's unknown whether he is negotiating an extension with the Redskins. Reid said the possibility McNabb could refuse to go to another team or decline to extend his contract was not a factor

Exactly. Basically his version of a no-trade clause as I've said before was hoping to scare teams that he didn't like off enough to discourage them from trading for him.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I'm hoping this mean's we're looking toward the 2011 draft for a long term QB, and then having the guy sit behind mcnabb for a season or two. I think Jake Locker and Andrew Luck (love this guy), are going to be better than any of the QB's in this draft, and having one of them sit behind a vet like Mcnabb can only be beneficial.... or Snyder just got bored hahaha.

What else would Reid say? Obviously the Eagles wouldn't trade Mcnabb to a division rival without being forced to do so.

Doesn't have much of a choice. He went to Washington in 2006 so this is his last year of eligibility.

Quarterback Donovan McNabb goes from Eagles to Redskins - washingtonpost.com
Tripp's excuses are falling by the wayside.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I mean Locker is going to be the first off the board next year...we'd have to be pretty atrocious to get him...and I don't see us being THAT bad. That said, whoever said Luck has a promising potential knows his stuff...hei s THAT GOOD! Me personally...I'd rather take a shot at Barkley from USC two years from now...that would be a franchise QB...anyone disagree?

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

And I do think Luck will come out next year, he'll probably be a top 3 QB in his class..so I don't see why he wouldn't...gotta cash in when you can. Really depends on the QB classes after him though.

You're mixing up Luck and Locker
