Sell the McNabb move as an opportunity you couldn't pass up, but act like you are passing on the benefits to other teams with Campbell. If Denver did it, Allen can do it.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
McNabb apparently has a no-trade clause built-in to this trade, so DeMac is our QB this year.
Donovan is now the biggest sports star in DC. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
You can stink in some departments(short passing accuracy) if other abilities override it(instincts to extend the play, deep ball accuarcy). Campbell's throws are like musket shots. They're never on target or there's some miscomm. Never can one be certain whether he intended to throw something like back shoulder pass(Oakland game) or it just happned to be there. Campbell's pocket presence is artificial at best. The fumble in the Giants game is more than ample evidence that he needs to think about when his time's up and it's not an instinctive ability of his. He also can't see the field well, such as missing Yoder on that quadruple streak play.

Gotcha..well, for the sake of this discussion it simply means a young person. But it's a chicken about 2 months old, the meat is tender.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Random useless thoughts on this:
- Unless there's a draft day trade involving McNabb, I guess I should change the line above my avatar. - Colt Brennan won't be wearing number 5 and all the Cult-o-Colters are going to need to get new jerseys. ![]()

Man it's going to be so hard to run him out of town. I mean it's like going from Somolia to the US.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Most likely true, but given their relationship and that something like this could possibly work (however remote), I couldn't help but ponder the thought. Now, back to my crack pipe I left in my meth lab...

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I like it. McNabb instantly replaces Portis as the alpha-dog on offense. Now all the players take cues from McNabb both in practice and during games. On-field leadership is something we've been lacking for a long time, and as long as McNabb protects the ball, we're good to go. Portis has been the emotional focal point of the offense to the team's detriment, and JC just didn't step up in time (or he was focused on more pressing matters like learning new offensive schemes and staying alive in the backfield).
I'll say it again: Urban Meyer got in Chris Leak's face about being more of a leader, and during their second season together, they won a National Championship. Tebow was not the most skilled QB in Florida history (might have been Grossman, interestingly), but he was a hell of a leader, and he got another championship because of it. But let's bring it back to the NFL level: The best teams in the NFL right now not only have good quarterbacks, but their quarterbacks are the undisputed leaders of their offenses. Stats almost don't matter in this case (but lucky for us, McNabb is a good statistical QB, too). |
