Basically McNabb is much better on a per game basis. He's certainly a better prospect then Schuab.
No. That's not what it's like at all. It's as if you had a 19 PPG guy and an 18 PPG guy, but the 19 PPG guy (who had averaged 21 PPG for his career, perhaps) had an injury history (so the 18 PPG guy had more points scored) and a large contract, and you traded for him anyway. Reasoning being: the 18 PPG player just isn't cutting it.

Age issues aside, that's a poor solution to a perceived problem. And it would make you ask out loud if they really understood the problem to begin with.

I think he means that JC is younger, and was improving (stat wise) every year, plus not a lot of injury concerns...

That's the other one I remembered. I had forgotten we had Grossman.

So I'm guessing you don't like the McNabb trade?

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I was at the movies and my phone started blowing up with texts about the trade so I am just getting details about it.. Personally, I love the trade. McNabb gives us legitimacy at the QB position for the first time in forever. Is he perfect, not even close. Is he the best we've had in more than a decade, absolutely. This is a move to win in the next 2 years with Shanahan. His history is with veteran QB, Elway was a veteran, he went to an AFC Championship game with Jake freaking Plummer.

This actually gives us MORE flexibility in the draft. If Okung is gone at #4 (which he probably will be) they can trade down without having to worry about going down too far and risk not being able to get a T or QB-now we just can focus on T and it also gives us the ability to trade Campbell for a 3, 4, or 5 rather than needing to hold out for a 2nd round pick we'd never get.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Yup. Cerrato trades high draft pick(s) for a big name vet past his prime, and he's the biggest moron in the NFL!!

Allen/Shanny trade a high draft pick for a big name vet past his prime and people rejoice??

I'll never understand our fan base.

Sure, this is for a QB (something we've needed forever), but the fact remains we have many other pressing needs, and now only 4 draft picks to address them. The Patriots have three times that many by the way. The best teams in this league build through the draft.

I've been "wait and see" on Allen/Shanny since day one. That fact remains. Big time.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

Im pinching myself, I cant believe all the opprotunities this opens up for Washington in the draft...They can take the best OT at #4 or trade down and pick up an OT and a 2nd round pick, that should be used on an OT as well. They can also trade Campbell for some later round pick maybe 3rd and 4th......WOW...the possibilities

McNabb is probably 500-900 passing attempts away from being a player who just-can't-do-it anymore (think McNair 07, or Delhomme '09). Campbell figures to peak as a talent around age 31, or two to three years in the future.

I wouldn't want to be the guy holding the contract for McNabb's age-35 to age-37 seasons, but I'm that much closer now. And how quickly is he going to age behind Heyer/Williams/Rabach. Are we going to do anything to give up a chance behind that right side even after addressing the left side with the No. 4 pick?
