Re: Brian Orakpo = Beast
This case is like others in past yrs. Orakpo alone they hit a home run, but keep in mind that has been the norm. give them 6-8 draft picks and about half were worth keeping or stayed on the team.
The last two yrs we have kept the majority of our draft picks, but give it another yr or two and lets see how many are still on the team. Hopefully between Allen and Shanahan they will pick better and keep more for developement. On a side note though, yes Orakpo does seem to be a nice pick. I think the majority of our 1st round picks have stayed though. From 1991 to today: Bobby Wilson DT Desmond Howard WR Tom Carter DB Heath Shuler QB Micheal Westbrook WR Andre Johnson T Kenard Lang DE 98 no 1st round pick Chanp Bailey CB Lavar Arrington LB Chris Samuels T Rod Gardner WR Patrick Ramsey QB 03 no 1st round pick Sean Taylor S Carlos Rogers CB/ Jason Campbell QB LaRon Landry S 08 no 1st round pick Brian Orakpo DE Trent Williams T I think the WR's were all duds and the two QB's Shuler and Ramsey. I think Ramsey could have been better had he not been thrown in to a bad scheme and pounded a lot. But it is what it is. |
