Re: Redskins vs. Broncos Gameday Thread

If Jerry Gray is that good of a coach, why does our secondary appear to be a weak link? We've invested the 9th overall pick, 6th overall pick, Deangelo Hall, Fred Smoot, a 3rd round pick, and a 4th round pick in our DBs, and this is our return?

We had the #1 passing defense, but that's a misleading statistic. We rarely hold a lead and we have yet to score more than 17 points. Teams don't have to air it out when they hold a lead for the entire game and know they only have to score 16 points to win. Plus, we've played teams like Tampa, Detroit, St. Louis, and Kansas City; teams that have horrible passing attacks.

Gotta disagree most of the games have been close.

Agreed, and save for this game and last game, we really haven't been giving up the deep ball. The secondary needs to get their act together and we need a better QB rush. Although, let's not forget that the Broncos have a good offensive line (you know, that thing we don't have).

No arguement here...just pointing it out is all. We seem to be a team of misleading stats. Campbell's stats, Rock's kickoff return stats, and the secondary / overall defensive stats.
