Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
They won there Superbowl with Strahan and Shockey on the team though. And Tiki retired on his own. So i dont know what your getting at.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
That explains why Landry can't make a tackle

I'm pleasantly surprised that Mike Florio has toned down on the Redskins, his old self would have had 5 different versions of this story.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
Strahan retired after the last SB, Barber retired the year before the Sb year and Shockey was injured and did not play that year. TE Boss was the TE in the SB year.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
I like most of the comments in this thread...some really good points are: CP creates these little situations and they almost always blow over. Last year when he called out the oline that group responded w/ more vigor on the field, until injury demolished the group later in the season.
My take: Sellers has a lot of pride, meaning a lot of football pride. He's not gonna take shit from CP and he certainly knows he's had a down season to this pt (admitted his monster screw up on the dropped TD). So...expect Sellers to come out swinging over the next several games at least. CP will probably do the same i bet. The running game is better because of the little tiff.

It's not like they got rid of these players, two retired and one got traded.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
I guess everyone's on edge and maybe they can air this out, pull together, and put this behind them, but if I'm tired of hearing his s**t, I imagine his team mates are too. Portis needs to concentrate on staying on his feet and finding the hole so he's not running into the backs of his o-line and falling down from "phantom" tackles.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
Haha i thought of that too. Zorn's got a point tho when he says these guys can handle this situation...or something to that effect. I still don't worry about the running game as much as the lack of production by the WR corp. I hope Lewis is working extensively w/ Kelly and Thomas this week and from here out. I get the feeling w/ some good coaching we could see those two begin to replicate what we see from young wideouts on other teams: some solid route-running, getting separation, and better body positioning. Up to this point they both look like they just play catch all practice.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
Thing is the Gmen have a decent FO, seem to have a solid plan in how to build a winner. Shoot we brought Gibbs back for gosh sakes and we still failed at building a perennial winner. Can't expect the same result when dealing with two different "test sample". Coughlin is a tested FA and cap era HC, while Zorn was to be honest a desperation pick as the high profile guys stayed put. Coughlin has the FO behind him, while the Skins FO will eat their young so to speak.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
What is truly irritating to many people is the fact it's always the same guy. When there's controversy (regardless of it's nature) and it always centers around the same person people take notice, and eventually come to the conclusion something must be amis. It's usually not long before the centerpiece is recognized for what it truly is.....A distraction.
