I'm curious to watch Springs' season play out. He looked like he was on the decline last season IMO...especially by the last quarter of the season. Maybe he bounces back but i tend to think the Pats made a goof in this move.

In the end his body let him down and it was time to move on. But I always liked Springs a lot. NE has become the place to go for older vets that want a ring.

2 moves that NE made that I really liked this offseason were Springs and Fred Taylor.

Man that first Dallas game, he had TO so hot you could see the steam coming out of his ears. Of course he got hurt, and Rogers took over in the 2nd half, lol. Im just glad he didnt stay in our division like Arrington/Mitchell/etc., so I can still cheer for him.

That was a great interview. He genuinely enjoyed the comradeship while he played here. That is the mark of the Skins, we have good team chemistry. I like the D Hall reference, perceived trouble maker who came here and worked hard, like everyone else.

Springs, good guy. Body is just flat out breaking down, they will never get three years outta the guy. Will be lucky to get one.

Good luck finishing your career elsewhere (Except when playing the SKINS), you couldn't stay on the field for us. Happy Trails.

Re: Seems Like Old Times with Springs in FedEx

Contrary to some, I feel that we may see a noticable dropoff in CB play this year.
I still believe Springs is a better CB than either of our starters...assuming he's playing.

I already miss the guy.
I am not a huge believer in DeAngelo, I feel he will be picked on since he takes chances not to mention the ability to run right over the guy.
I see big plays over there....TD's, big sweeps, Interceptions
Carlos is adequate, and the exact opposite of D Hall...he will hold down the boring side of the field.

Too bad Springs is gone...he was definately one of our best players the last few years.
That is why I am skeptical of how STELLAR our AMAZING new defense is (before we even see them play in a real game)

It's called hype!!!! I'm with you though. Let's see how we do Friday against Mr. Brady and co. That will be the first real test.

Re: Seems Like Old Times with Springs in FedEx

He was great for us when healthy. I have no hard feelings...just wish he could have still played up to his level in the last few years and stuck around, healthy.

He'll probably do well with NE, all broken old vets seem to do well there...must be something in the water (or the trainer's bag).
