Interesting. Just one more thing I did not know. I'll file it away with the other three.

It might not be a big hit right away but I'm betting in just a few years it could be.
How many MPGs does your 2009 PJ5 Hot Rod get?

Probably average, with limited range. But a lot of that is offset by the fact that it can run on water.

hopefully this technology is like others. the same $40,000.00 vehicle will cost about half in the future. remember how much microwaves, and camcorders were when they first came out?

I am here to crap in everyone's cheerios.

The Chevy Volt Gets 230 mpg? Only if you use bad math. : Good Math, Bad Math

To quote the author, "The honest way to describe it is to say "Up to 40 miles without consuming gas, and then 50 miles per gallon".

The Volt is a great idea, and so is all of the electric cars by Coda, Chrysler and Nissan.

All we hear about is the Volt and Tesla though. There will be options.

Re: Chevy hopes an estimated 230 mpg will give its Volt a charge

Just like any other vehicle it depends on how you drive it how often you charge it, and how long you drive it for.

In my case and for the purpose that I would use it for, I would get 230 MPG. I live 4 miles away from my work (still takes me 15 min to get there) so 40 miles without consuming gas would fit me perfectly.
