No way in the world is Eli worth that kind of coin. But good for him. He played his best ball when it mattered most.

He's definitely not worth anywhere close to that kind of money. His career numbers are paltry. He got hot during one half of one season. That's it. No more Toomer or Plax, and we'll see how he does.

Out of all receivers on the Giants roster, the career TD leader has 4. That's right, 4 career TD receptions. If they think Hakeem Nicks is going to turn Eli into the QB from the second half of 2007, they're in for a rude awakening. Plax was his safety blanket, and he's obviously nowhere close to the same QB without him as he was with him.

I'm sorry but I think Eli Manning is one of the most overrated players in football.

Not that I'm an Eli's fan, but they wrote him off when Tiki retired. Then they said he wouldn't make it without Shockey, his receivers are too young, Toomer was too old, Patriots are too good. And they'll say the same thing now that Plax won't be with the Giants this year. All he's done is make the playoffs every year as the starting QB and bring home a Super Bowl ring against a team nobody gave them chance of winning.

How did he do after Plax shot himself/got suspended? They were miserable down the stretch, he didn't throw a TD to a WR in the last 4 or 5 games (despite having maybe the best O-line in the game), and his one-and-done playoff performance was abysmal. I'm just saying, he has done exactly nothing without a 6"5' safety blanket to throw jump balls.
