Would he even need to visit to get a deal done? He's very fimiliar with the area & team, so I dont really know if he would have to come in to have it done...

I really hope we get Dock back.

Right now he's 27. But how many more years does he have playing at the level he currenntly plays at? I don't think AH is the type of guy that keeps himself in shape. He's the type that needs to be motivated. If I'm paying a guy that much I'm not going to ever have to worry about character/fitness issues.

Me too. He has a home here. I think a visit would just be a formality.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

Getting Haynesworth is exactly what this defense needs. Get rid of Springs and Taylor, pick up Dockery for cheap money (was never really impressed with Dockery...over rated) and draft an offensive lineman with our 1st pick.
Hopefully, this will shore up our offensive line, with the addition of Dockery and a top draft pick and give JC the protection that he needs to hopefully be the QB that everybody seems to think he is (me?...not!).
This is probably the last year that the salary cap will be in place and The Little Danny and Vinny know this, hence, the big bucks. As much as I dislike our owner and sidekick, this was a very good move on their part.

Its times like these where it pays to have a owner like Snyder. Especially next season.

My thoughts are the same. Mike Mayock has USC LB Rey Maulamuna going 13 in the draft. He's known for getting to the QB. We have to rotate the LB's during the game and this guy may fit into the scheme.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

Look at the past teams that picked up big name free agents the last few years. Cleveland spent a ton of money last year and didn't make the playoffs. Shawn Rogers was a bust. What about the Jets? They spent a ton of money and didn't make the playoffs. What abou the year before? SF spent a lot of money and never made the playoffs. Just cause you bring in a talented player doesn't automatically mean that the player will play well in his new system. AH only knows Tenn's defense and their system. Perhaps he doesn't fit well with what Blache and co does. As I said, history shows it doesn't work.

THAT sums it up! I won't queer the deal by elaborating, but...yes, that's it!

Get Dockery signed. Let Pete Kendall and Springs go. Then draft either Rey Malumuna or Brian Okrapo.

Kris Jenkins was a beast for the Jets so I blame the offense for the Jets not reaching the playoffs. But overall, no free-agent has dominated the way Haynesworth has for the last two years.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

We will totally regret this signing - WAY more downside than updside. Here's my reasons:

1) Too much $$. That is Peyton Manning money and you can't tell me that Fat Albert (who will probably participate in only about 60% of the snaps) is worth that.

2) His old team and Detroit (new HC is old DC at Titans) did not go after him aggressively at all. They obviously know he's NOT worth the money.

3) He's hurt. A lot.

4) He's got no motivation to perform - and has shown to be a player that needs motivation to perform.

5) The Titans' system was designed to collapse the pocket from the outside via speed rushing DE's and force the QB to step up into Fat Albert's path. I think we'll find out that this HUGELY inflated his numbers.

6) Not a high-character guy. (Neither is DeAngelo Hall who we just blew another rediculous wad of money on). This is the anti-Gibbs philosophy. How many perennial SB contenders do you see with character issue guys? Patriots? Steelers? Bad for team chemistry.

7) I guarantee you that in 2-3 years we're going to have a situation where we'll have to re-wicker his contract and it's going to be a media mess with trash-talking, holdouts, etc...

8) At this price, short of a repeat of what he did last year - it will be a complete DISASTER.

9) Cut & Paste all of these comments for MeAngelo Hall as well.

Why does everyone have a hard-on for Dockery? He was average at best when he was here and we GLADLY let him go to the Bills for big money.... where he subsequently sucked horribly and they cut him.

We want him back WHY? I mean, for a very, very low salary - fine. But no way should we overpay for him. Kendall is 100 x better.

I hate to see Springs go, but there's just not $$ for him. Sucks to see us replace one of the top cover guys in the league (Springs) with one of the worst (MeAngelo) - but hopefully Fat Albert will get to the QB before they realize that MeAngelo's guy is wide open in the endzone...
