Re: "Barack the Magic Negro"
i think its exactly the same, only difference is chris rock gets paid for it. the only reason people are upset is because it was a white guy who has a seat in the republican party. if it would have been a skit on SnL most people would find it funny.

The thing is the country just finished with a bitterly faught election, from both sides, and most Americans want to move forward. It probably doesn't help that Barack's ratings are through the roof either. Last edited by 12thMan; 12-30-2008 at 01:31 PM. |

Save the comedic relief for the comedians. Although the Barack song was in poor taste, I guess I'm so desensitized, I kinda snickered when I saw the title to this thread. I mean I think you can make fun of different races as long as you can do so with tact and actually be funny. It's a thin line between making witty racial commentary and coming off as racist. I've seen white comedians make jokes about black people and I'm not offended cause that shit is actually funny. Asian comedians tend to do it a lot too. And come on, black comedians cap on the black race all the time probably MORE than any other race. Remember Chris Rock's set about the difference between black people and the N-word?
