Personally, I'm down for Brennan. I mean if he was starting, we obviously would have killed the Giants.. Pats style.
I think the guy is going to be awesome in the NFL someday, but I'm not willing to call him the second coming of Joe Montana just yet, or....I know Madden would like this, the second coming of FavreAH! LOL! But, I will say, if it's meant for him to step in and lead the team, I think things could get exciting. Sort of the same thing a lot of us Redskins fans were saying about Jason Campbell a couple of years ago.

lol my italics was sarcasm.

But I loooooove Brennan and would not be opposed to giving him a starting role if we got that damn desperate.

I'd like to see Campbell be a huge success because i've never had anything against him but judging from what i saw today and this preseason I really don't think he's playing like a first string QB should play. I never thought Colt would get a chance at playing in Washington because you have 2 good QB's but the way JC is playing right now I wouldn't get mad if they put him in. It doesn't matter who's the QB as long as it's the QB who gives you the most chance to win wether it be Collins, Campbell, or Brennan but IMO i don't think that guy is Campbell but hey I might be wrong...

Agreed! And sorry I missed the italics. In a weird sort of way, he kind of reminds me of Jim McMahon. Not necessarily with how we plays, but just how laid back he is.

Nor would I. I think the kid has the chance to blossom into something special.

He didn't start a retarded thread based on about 15 meaningful plays and then garbage time. Why in the world has your opinion changed?

He wasn't efficient today, and hurt the team today more then he helped it. Whatever. He'll be back there again in Week Two.

Retarded Thread.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

Either way, I'm thinking this year is Campbell's "make it, or break it year." No matter how many games this team wins this season, Campbell needs to show that he can adapt to this offense. I'm thinking if it doesn't look like he's making any progress by mid-season, it could be possible that we'd maybe see Colt. I, too, wouldn't be unhappy if that happens, but I just want the best guy for the job, no matter who it is.

I haven't even watched the game yet(DVR'd), but isn't Week 1 just a bit early to be calling our starting QB a bitch. Have you ever lined up under center at any level....I doubt it.

MY BAD! gTRIPP KNOWS how important QB play is right? You are actually trying to break down this game like that? This isn't preseason. The QB played very very very bad.

You'll get a full game breakdown tomorrow courtesy of me, assuming that Matty doesn't have to give you a vacation to keep some sanity.

Campbell was very, very slow tonight in his reads. To me, that totally 100% backs up Schneed's hypothesis that he's not comfortable yet in the offense. Apparently to you, that means everything you've seen from him in 20 starts was a mirage, and that he's "a bitch" (which is totally meaningless to us).

Schneed's pretty smart, and I think I'm going to side with him on this one. I'll review the game tomorrow.

Wilsowilso,

Nobody here is implying that Jason Campbell played great or even average tonight. We all see that he has A LOT to learn with this new offense. We all know he played a bad game. But man, this IS the first game of the season. If the guy continues to struggle and doesn't look like he's making progress, then crap on the guy then if you must. But, give him at least a few games to redeem himself. It isn't like he's been playing in the same offense for the last four years.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

People on this site love to blame just ONE person when many people are at fault. It happened with Doughty in the Jacksonville game and it is happening with Campbell in this game. I don't think anyone is out to defend Campbell's bad plays, but people act like he single handedly brought down the team, while overlooking other areas in which the team screwed up such as pass protection, play calling, and dropped passes.

Let me ask you a question Gtripp? Was it the fact that I used the word bitch that bothered you? I didn't do anything wrong except use the word bitch right?

Re: JC is not what I thought.

I'm not going to say we wouldn't have won this game with Peyton Manning at Quarterback, because we did hold them to 17 points. And Quarterback was certainly part of the problem tonight.

Other problems:

-No semblance of a running game
-Poor run defense
-No pressure on the QB in the first half
-Multiple Blown Coverages on the Giants TD Drive
-Piss poor blocking most of the night
-Receivers never, ever open

The defensive problems were minor, and as the game went on, they disapeared. The offensive issues seem to be rather major, and not bound to fix themselves anytime soon. Rest assured that Jason Campbell will be part of the solution, and a force that offsets the other problems. It will take time though.

If that isn't acceptable to you, then don't watch the games. It's not worth your time, because there are about 20 teams in the NFL that are better than this one that you can be rooting for.
