Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
If Sean would've got a chance to play ten more seasons, he easily would've went down as one of the best, if not the best, safety the NFL has ever seen. Even in Sean's short
3 1/2 season career he had more ferocious tackles and hits than half the people on that list, and if he went on to have a 13+ season career at the end of it I don't think anybody would even have to hesitate to tell you that Sean Taylor was the most feared player in the history of the NFL. |

Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
without a doubt he should be on the list. hes at the top of mine. the man threw his body around sideline to sideline. he was wreckless and just had that swagger that intimidated ppl in itself, as if his head busting hits werent enough. LaRon has learned a few things from sean, you can tell, that swagger and attitude is one. I like to look at LaRon as Sean's protege so to speak.

No ,the list is long and can be held to different opinions. Harry Carson,Mike Singeltary ,Mike Curtis ar just a couple that I think are better than John Lynch and a few others. That in no way diminishs how good ST was ,but he was young and just did not play long enough,he has not earned the accolades some fans want to give him. |

Well if you go back and look at it, ST was almost at the line of scrimmage when the play started, but when Crayton caught that ball, he almost got back there in time. Now at first, I didn't think about it too much until I watched the highlights of that game later on. I thought to myself............wait.......wait a minute! This guy was down too far to be near Crayton after he caught the ball. I would go back and check it out again and again, and I'm telling you, it will blow your mind. He was a freak of nature. |

tight ends (probably all of them) wide receivers (NONE OF THEM) Except ONE. Sean Taylor. And he could hit just as hard as the LB, because he was about their size, and stronger and faster than the DBs on that list. Nuff Said!! |

Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
WRONG. He was great, and he would have continued to break records, but he was killed and couldn't prove it to people like you.

Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
Classy thread, GINeric. Sean Taylor coulda, woulda and definitely SHOULDA gone down as the greatest player in Redskins history. I loved watching the guy play and he had yet to reach his full potential! Hopefully the Skins will continue the "Warpath 21" march they started after his tragic death last season. Stay motivated and play every down for Sean!!
HAIL!!

Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
Dude S.T. had fully grown into his potential during the '07 season. Everybody could see it, he didn't get beat once, he had 5 picks in 7 games, and he was playing like everyone envisioned he would when we first drafted him. If he had played like that the entire year I have no doubts he would've been recognized as one of the best safeties in the NFL, similar to the way Ed Reed was in '04. Unfortunately that didn't and won't happen, so the point is basically moot.

Re: Shouldn't Sean Taylor.............
Look first off,no one can find anything I've said that's negative about ST!He was good, very good but to anoint him as a saint and all super HOF I think is wrong.Second and I mean this, all I'm talking about is football...nothing else.We will never know simple as that,we can wish ,hope or dream but he could have blown out a knee and never played again...................nobody knows that's all I'm saying .
