Can someone explain this better, that understands it. The way I understand it is Jansen just got several million dollars guarenteed, that will be spread out over the remaining life of his contract. Making his cap number huge next year and the subsequent years. Is that correct or did he say, my play has not been that great and I was injured, so for the good of the team I will give up millions?

You're asking about a paycut in the bolded piece. To my knowledge, he did not take a paycut.

By my math, this restructure should have increased his 2009 cap figure by about $1.0 million or so.

Well if thats the case that is not bad, but he should take a paycut.
