I thought there was some unwritten bylaw here that I missed that demanded that you immediately question an individuals loyalty, "fanhood" and testicle size when they dare to raise any kind of problem or "negative" thought.

Didn't someone threaten to shoot somebody in a game thread for not being a fan? I mean seriously...

I wish.

I think jsarno was on some rant during a game a month or so ago and threatened to shoot me, or somebody else, it wasn't entirely clear.

I'm sure (?) it was all in jest, but even still. Hopefully it was one or eight too many beers.

Excuse me? I have never threatened to shoot anyone. I don't appreciate that comment.

This is a thread to bring people together and people still find a way to break it down somehow...especially the poor post by Schneed cause he felt implicated. Stop reading into it and enjoy this together. Why people feel the need to be negative at all costs is beyond me.

I believe we're all Redskins fans. I just believe some people tend to be so overly critical of every single aspect that I wonder if they even enjoy watching the Redskins play football? At least, that is the impression I get sometimes.

I would agree. But wouldn't you also agree that some people are so blindly optimistic that they can't see reality on occasion? Is it wrong to point out and discuss the problems?

Of course, it goes both ways.

I guess I'd have to understand your definition of what blind optimism is before I could agree or disagree. There are some who more optimistic than not and some who are more negative than not. When you group those people into one room or forum, you tend to have clashes of personalities. Especially with the extremists on both sides. Such as those who say to fire Joe Gibbs after each loss or to bench all the starters. I'd find just as out of touch with reality as I would those who say we're going to the Super Bowl even if we're 6-10.

Without getting amazingly deep into this, if all the people did was point out what was wrong and discuss the problems (as you say), then no one would be in question at any time. The problem occurs when so called fans call it quits 5 minutes into the first quarter after the other team scores. That is not productive, nor is it discussing. I've watched people say, "we suck, watch, we will lose" or even having a lead someone will say "we're still gonna lose, we just don't deserve to be on the same field". Or they guarentee a loss when we're winning at half.
However, I don't really want to get into this discussion for the simple fact that people will argue just to see themselves type. My intent of this thread was to drop all the ill feelings that people have, and join together on a playoff run.
