Re: What to do with Springs??
I think Springs should help us a lot, so we could not get rid of him. He can get more starts if healthy, with Rogers or Smoot in the opposite.

Re: What to do with Springs??
Great article from the Post. I think it gives some perspective that gets lost in our day to day rooting of our team.
The Aging Process - washingtonpost.com I don't know about you but give me 22 Shawn Springs. If they cut this guy it is just another glaring example of how they just don't get it. |

Re: What to do with Springs??
springs is our best corner on the roster. whatever it takes to keep him better be worked out or we might be in for a long season in the secondary. We will not have a chance at the post season without him.

Re: What to do with Springs??
Good article in the washington post today. Basically says that Springs trainers believe he needs to be (in arizona) because of his age specific training program. Also says he plans to be there the first week of June, like we know, and that Springs is out to prove everyone wrong about being to old.
He is going to be fine!

Re: What to do with Springs??
I love Smoot, but I think he is only a number 2 conerback, most of his interceptions on the redskins were from the quarterback making bad decisions than him making a great play. Some reason the last year he was here i think all but one of his interceptions were from tipped balls to, which is nice but i think a cornerback should do a lot more than catch tipped balls. Carlos may have a great year but i would be amazed if we lost shawn springs our defense would be very effective against a team with a great reciever like roy williams or larry fitzgerald.
