But, this is a waste of time, really.. We can't say anything until we see Landry plays and see how it pans out.. So

I don't know, the improved secondary helps, I just would have liked to have seen us draft Okoye or trade down (if possible) to nab a DE.
Oh I agree with trading down. That was probably plan A and felt it didn't work out, so they chose plan B. It wasn't a bad move though, but probably wasn't their best move. Still, Landry and Taylor together in the secondary? That is going to be interesting.

That sums it up well.

So how many would've been happier with Jamaal Anderson?

Interesting, or a trian wreck?
That first time Landry blows an assignment, his head is going to be on a platter.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

i guess im like the most of you . . . wanted the team to address their biggest weakness but cant complaint about picking up a potentially great safety . . . when and if grif goes down it could kill the season

miami gets the player they wanted in quinn, we and the other teams looking to trade down got schooled

I just want to go on record and say I think the emergence of and media insanity over the Combine is probably the worst thing to happen to the NFL in years.

I honestly do not know much about Anderson and haven't seen him play (other than in highlights and 1 game). But, I would have been happy with drafting a DE. I would have been thrilled with drafting Okoye.

Also, that we have already improved the secondary (with Smoot and Macklin), suggests to me that it was time to focus on the D-line.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

The Skins said they wanted to take the best player available and they did. I heard some analysts say the two surefire picks in the draft were Calvin Johnson and LaRon Landry.

I just hope Miami misses out on Quinn and Peterson. I hate everything about the dolphins. I hate their colors, I hate Dan Marino, and I hate their stupid logo on their helmets. Come on, that thing is just ridiculous looking.

There I got it out, I feel much better now.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

Like I said, nobody's questioning whether the kid can hit. We've already got a Human Heat Seeking Missile at safety. I seem to recall we were all very excited about another Big Hitter at safety last year as well. What happened to that guy? Or our defense for that matter.

Yeah, it would have been a reach at six, but I was really impressed with all the background on his character and personality. Sure seemed like a guy who could have matured into a team leader and core of the defense.

I would have been fine with him. I thought he rivaled Adams...in fact, I think Anderson will be more effective in the NFL than Adams. But we could have really used him or Okoye. We didn't need to fill that safty position.
I am very disappointed.
That's it, I'm going to get back to my drinking. See you guys later.

Before I go, all I can say is, all of you that said or think Landry was the answer, you better be right, cause that's all we have on defense is a secondary.
