Forgot about Payton. Yep, he's right up there...shit, he's coach of the year!

On this occasion, you're right! This thread is totally absurd! Marty is a fine coach who just seems to be cursed come playoff time. His guys just lost there minds a few times Sunday, and the Patriots got an unbelievably lucky break on the Mcree interception then fumble right back to the Pats. I still wish Marty could've stayed with the Skins longer, instead of Snyder going after that dunce the OBC. Of course that's ancient history now with Gibbs back in the saddle, but still.

at least he gets his team into the playoffs. I dont see the skins getting into the playoffs as often as he has lately. I rather lose some playoffs games instead of making it two times in the last 14 yrs.

As for Marty, he should stay. It's not his fault they lost that game. If they fire him they are basically putting themselves back at square one. If they keep him all they need is a little more playoff experience with that young team and they will be a contender for years to come.
Rivers is a quality young QB who has won at every level. He will be an AFC Pro Bowler for years to come. Now, when you say Tony Romo is a Pro Bowl QB, then I can understand some doubt being raised about whether he belongs, talk about sucking towards the end of the year! He went from next Staubach to next Drew Henson just like that!

Get off Marty's back. At 14-2, he is doing something right. I'd rather be watching my team in the playoffs than figuring out who my team needs to draft.

You can say that again.

Apparently ESPN PAge 2 thinks similar to me.

Read the whole article. They gave MArty his biggest choke/gag ever for the way he handled the chargers/Pats game.

We also would be in the playoffs every year , not 5-11 . Marty finished 8 - 3 , with a cast of , T. Banks , R. Gardner and not much else ,,, we have C. Portis , Moss , Loyd, R El , Cooley , and Betts off the bench and we can't win freakin 6 games ?? No , Marty would not be in my top 5 choices for our coach , but he had our salary cap in better shape and won with a hell of alot less talent than we have now ?

Re: Thank the Heavens Marty Lasted One Year

i love the skins,i have burgundy and gold blood, and i thank god that gibbs has
coached them 2 times,no matter what happens til he retires again, but if you take away his superbowl victories, and playoff wins, schottenheimer has won more games.he just has extremeley shitty postseason performances, and even worse postseason game decisions.i would have still preffered marty to have kept his job as skins coach over spurrier any day.

I think Portis was hurt most of the year, was he not? And our defense was banged up all year too. We'd win more than 6 games any other year, easy. We had so many bad breaks this past season to last us ten seasons at least. I think Marty's a great coach (in the regular season anyway) but don't go with the absurd thinking that he, or anyone else for that matter, would do better job than Gibbs and the boys if they'd have less talent. Our salary cap situation would be just the same if anyone else was coaching this team.

Thank goodness impatient football fans and the moronic, knee jerk media aren't running the Chargers, he would have been fired Sunday night if they had it their way! San Diego has made a fine decision, and I think they may fare a whole lot better in the postseason next year, now that they have some experience under their belts.
