Or would it be better for them to sit and stew on a 4-12 record for eight months? In the interest of the long term picture, of course.

You have to be the most negative person on this fine website, you are always bitching and are insatisfiable, if we went to the super bowl this year you would have found something wrong with it im sure.

That being said you play to win with a rook for a QB to build confidence lets not worry about a draft pick at this moment becuase they will just ride th epine anyways

If you pull for them to lose you aren't a fan.

This is what happens when kids don't get to play dodgeball.

As much as I wanted us to get Gaines Adams, I would still take a win over a loss, look at Detroit, how many times have they secured there high draft position? And dont worry about high draft picks, we will be able to get Pat Willis or Paul Posluzny in the teens any ways, its a great year for us in the draft beings that we need defensive help

Reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths is it? If you would have read more carefully, you'll see that I'm simply asking a question. I have not "bitched" after the win over the Saints in any of these posts.

While this losing season has brought out negativity from me, and certainly others, it might brighten your day to know that despite this pathetic peformance from our team in 2006, I actually see signs of improvement from the offense. In fact, in another thread I stated that by next year, the offense should really be clicking.

There. Feel better now?

You habe to be kidding right? The current front office setup is one of the worst in football according to many GM's around the league (See Wilbon Article). As Wilbon wrote you can't win in this league with a coach/GM as Gibbs is now because he can't devote the necessary time to do the GM job correctly. He did well in Gibbs I because he devoted all his time to coaching.
My idea of adding a GM is not to have another cook in the kitchen but to have an experienced, professional front office person making the right decisions so the Redskins stop getting fleeced with giving up their draft picks. Look at Holmgren in Seattle - he is a great coach but when he was also the GM when he first took the job the Seahawks were terrible. You can look at the Redskins and say the same thing here.
And Vinny Cerrato - I think the majority of posters on this board would disagree with your viewpoint that he is a good player personnel director.

I think it's important they keep winning so that it build's JC's confidence going into next season. I think that is way more important than getting a little bit higher draft pick.

good point, and if we keep winning it shows JC that the vets haven't given up, very important for off season morale. These guys do have to work together in the spring.

This thread title makes me think of a question a Roman soldier stationed in Ireland might ask his campfire buddies.

sorry if this offends anyone, but the subject of regrets after winning, and tanking the season for a higher draft pick has been debated and discussed to death. Does this mean after the Rams game, when we beat their collective asses in, we're going to get the same damn threads about draft picks?!?!?

Re: Any "Day After" Regrets for Beating Saints?

I regret not beating the Saints 74-0, so we could lose that record.
I regret that Riggins had to retire
I regret spending a top pick on Heath Schuler
I regret the shame that Deion brought
I regret the Jack Pardee debacle....etc
but I will NEVER regret beating the Saints and restoring....some, small modicum of dignity to my beloved Skins

Ok, first its was players suck, then coaches, then Snyder, the front office, the stadium, and now its come to a win sucks. This team needs to finish on a positive note and JC needs to build his confidence which each win gives him.

I am sure they would sit and stew on a 7-9 record just as they would sit and stew on a 4-12 record. A losing season is a losing season is a losing season, especially when they had the aspirations that they had at the beginning of the season.

This is nonsense talking about, "are you regretting that we won"! What is that $#!+? Whether we get a #5 pick or a #25 pick, be happy that we will have a first rounder.

The key is picking someone who will have an impact and in a hurry. It is usually a crap shoot, so I think playing for picks right now is ludicrous.

I think it shows a lot of character if we win out, after all the only thing we're playing for now is pride. It would be great to be a spoiler for the NYG wouldn't it?

Exactly. As a whole the team is playing much better and it's nice for them to be rewarded with a strong win against a top team
