Anybody have any good boss horror stories?

I can honestly say I've only had two bosses in my life that I really hated. Both of them were super micro-managers. Always up your ass about things, you had to check in with them constantly, etc.

Bosses that are totally hands off aren't much better, but I think I would take that anyday over a micro-manager.

The only boss I really couldn't stand actually was recently fired. He starts by firing our most senior member then boasts about knowing how to get people's attention. Then he hires his drinking buddy that has no clue how to do anything except get into everyone's business and relay that in extreme extrapolation to him. One day the HR guy came and said he wis no longer a part of this company. Morale has been up ever since. His buddy is still here and seems to have settled down.

My boss knows very little about what I do. He's in his own world most of the time. The upside is that most of the people here have little to no computer skills, so they think I'm a genius.

For some odd reason I've always got along with my mangers. I figured with me being "the black guy" there was fear of a lawsuit and Fight Club styled blackmail (pun intended).

No really, I get along with people pretty well because I'm a "Genuine Guy"™ and respectful. Asshole coworkers? Now that's another story.

Isn't it funny how you always have the standard set of co-workers? Like I feel I'm just your standard nice guy worker. I always wonder how there's only like 2-3 of those in a group of like 20. I generally get along with and like the people I work with, but some of them have these insane hang-ups.

I work with this one woman who was formerly my Spanish teacher in high school before I got this job, now she's this super-feminazi and dishes out shit but can't take it. If you talk back to her she goes and cries in her office.

I worked for a guy recently who tracked every second of everyones time that worked under him. He was in at 7:30 (not 7:31) and left at 4:30. If you came in at 7:35, he would go to his log book and note it. Ironically, he didn't note it when you stayed until 4:35... The funny part is that he got so wrapped up in it that he started recording other peoples time who did not work for him. Then he went to thier bosses and complained. It was funny how stunned he was to hear them tell him to mind his own business and that that was not his job (so in reality he was wasting the companies time himself). Now he just complains to his confidants in the group.

I use to work for a crazy bitch. She would track who you called on your cell phone and also use the Nextel Tracking System (dots commerical) to see where you were. She would considered you guilty of everything wrong. she was the worst. Didn't know shit about her job but would BS stakeholders to death making them believe she knew what the hell was going on. My last two weeks there were bliss I ignored her and blew off all the shit work she gave me. Until you quit a job you hate, you have not lived!

micro managing seems the way to go now a days. i am a good, competent worker that doesn't need to be babysat. but bosses seem to want to be up your ass all day, telling you dumb shit to do, when there are real tasks that need completed
