The Wii seems to be taking advantage of their lower price point and more units available at launch. A nice little comeback following the gamecube it appears.

yeah i just walked across the street to the times square Toys R Us on my lunch break and picked up a Wii the day after it came out. no line, no waiting.

i'm sure the PS3 would have sold any amounts they made available, it IS xmas time. no one who wants a PS3 will be satisfied with just a Wii, they're not direct competition.

the Wii is essentially a gaming accessory like a Gameboy or DS. thats why Nintendo will always make money, the fringes of the market are way more people than the core. its why the gamecube failure didn't break them.

I saw some people playing the Wii in the mall and it just looked stupid to me. I can't get with the whole laser pointer thing I guess.

On a side note, I was about 4 minutes from winning a PS3 on the radio this morning. They're doing a "where in the world is..." type of thing and I know the answer for sure; but the problem is that they're only taking one guess a day and the lines are always busy. I finally got connected today but they said I was calling too early. Literally as soon as I hung up they said to call about trying to win one. At leas the idiot guessing got it wrong so I can try again tomorrow.

The Wii system is pretty nice. My nephew has one and it was awesome. I played golf, bowling, and tennis with him. The wii system was realistic. The speed and angle at which you move your arm was reflected upon on how the ball was hit.... cool item to add to wish list.

we get atleast 100 calls a day about the Wii but we had ps3's waiting to be bought for almost a full day. The Wii is just the system made for hardcore and casual gamers alike where as now that people have seen the 2 side by side, a fair amount of people r seeing how similar the ps3 and 360 r and that it will take a bit of time for the PS3 to have developers showing it's muscle and being worth the higher price tag.
