Casino Royale
I just caught the movie last night and came out with mixed reactions. I like the new guy, seems to take the role well, and the story was ok. I personally liked how alot of the movie was based around poker, but that is just me, I am sure those who are not poker fans were really pissed off.
Some of my friends were complaining that the movie ran too long. That did not seem to bother me, but the movie was still so-so to me. Maybe it was bc they didnt use the Aston Martin enough, or maybe bc the story had too many twists. Either way, it just didnt feel like a good Bond movie to me. Thoughts?

Re: Casino Royale
I actually thought this was the best bond i've seen... it's heresy to say, but i like craig more than connery. he's physically bad ass and it doesn't hinder his acting ability (see Layer Cake)... plus he's got some ice in his veins, unlike the other bonds.
the chase scene was amazing! |

Re: Casino Royale
I liked it more than I thought it would but I agree with your friends that it ran on a bit too long. The opening chase scene was awesomely pulled off, but the film lacked its traditional vehicle chase. Also no Q, not enough gadgets, and lame villain deaths. I like Craig as Bond and what cemented it was his arrogance during the film and the torture scene which was freakin hard as hell to watch. My dad was telling me though that it that part of the book it was actually a baseball bat. *cringes*

Re: Casino Royale
A really good start for the new Bond. Too long and some stuff was confusing, but ever since the Roger Moore "Bond" the whole franchise has been piss poor. This movie showed nice potential as we like to say around here.
