Re: Lady in the water
Apparently you've all forgotten M. Night's seminal work writing the literary prose that would become the screenplay for Stuart Little.

Re: Lady in the water
I think the Descent looks pretty decent and I'd actually pay to go see it.
However, I think Pulse looks terrible. It's another Japanese horror remake and the problem with those is that what we find scarey isn't always the same as what they do. I've read that in Japanese culture ghosts and spirits inhabiting things like houses or electronics are much more frieghtening than they are here (for most people). I do think ghosts (in movies) can be scarey if they are done right, but i just feel like none have been in an American remake. I just want to watch a movie that scares the hell out of me and won't allow me to sleep for a few nights like they used to when I was a kid. Back on topic, I actually have to say that I've liked all of M Nights movies up until this point, but obviously none were as good as the Sixth Sense. I think the biggest problem with his movies is the way they are marketed to the public. If you remember, The Village was billed as the scariest movie in years but it really wasn't a horror movie at all. So most people went in thinking they were going to be all freaked out like they were watching The Shining in a snowbound hotel, but they ended up being disappointed by what the movie turned out to be. Ok, good times...
