Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
It makes some sense. They already have D. Davis in the backfield and while he's no Reggie Bush, he's a pretty good back. They just better pray Mario Williams is at least as good as Julius Peppers and Reggie Bush isn't as good as his billing.
I don't agree with the move at all, but I can at least come up with some arguments in favor of this move. It's probably boneheaded, but only time will tell. |

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
I have heard numerous scouts who are outside of NFL teams mention that they think Williams is way overrated. In fact two of them when sent to scout the wolfpack for the respective orgs said had they not explicitly known to watch him they would not have noticed him much at all.
This is a terrible mistake. How do you pass on a guy who is considered one of the best prospects to come into the draft in years? Stupidity. |

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
I retract my previous comments. I just read they paid Williams $54 million a year for 6 years! A $9 million per year end (even if it is backloaded)?!?!?! He'd better be the next Reggie White at that kind of money.
Crazy, absolutely crazy. |

Am I the only one that things reggie Bush is a part-time player at best in the NFL? I guess Ill have to wait and see, but I question if hes as great as everyone thinks.

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
This is f*ckin ridiculous. Mario Williams? How does having a horrible O Line translate into selecting a DE?! If they're not taking Bush, it should be Ferguson. This doesn't make any sense to me...
Mario Williams has the potential to be the 06 version of Sam Bowie. I hope not, for his sake, and I realize Reggie may not be the amazing back he was at USC, but I can't pass him up if I'm Houston. |

The luckiest team in history? New Orleans Saints. About time something good happened to that place. Who knew they'd end up with the de facto first pick because Houston has signed up to make another mistake with their first pick. Wow. Just wow. |

I don't think Reggie Bush is a part time back. Is he big? No. Will L. White be playing beside him? No. But, he's still a special player who should and will get his fair share of carries.

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
i think what some people are missing is that whoever drafts bush isn't drafting him to be an every down running back for a running system (like an eddie george)... coordinators see what he did at SC- where there were many weapons to distribute the rock. it's his presence on the field that makes this pick so unique... he can catch the ball out of the backfield or split out wide like faulk. that is where his value lies- his perceived threat on offense. And that's enough to help out the entire offensive unit- tight ends, receivers, qb...

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
Bush is so overrated, hes just fast...i cant believe some people could compare him to barry sanders
idk if mario williams was worth the number one pick but he will help their team more than bush...D'brickashaw would have been the best pick for them and domanick davis is a great running back...his stats arent that great, but he's had a few injuries and he's been running behind the worst o-line in the league |
