I agree with making refs full time pros. i wouldn't abolish replay though and there's no way they'd want to speed the game up. a 3.5+ hour game means 3.5+ hours of commericials, which means more money for the league.

but NFL shortcut are great if you like a fast game.

That I completely agree with. We all bitch about piss poor officiating, but the Leage won't do anything to rectify that situation. The Ref's need to be full time and well paid.

honeslty i think the advent of technology and replays has caused us, as fans, to be even more critical and see even replays the refs dont.

they should just kill the tuck rule. it was called correctly in the bronco's game, but its a terrible rule.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports a few more proposals that are being considered at the NFL owner's meeting next week are: A proposal prohibiting the kicking team from overloading one side of the field with more than seven players on onside kicks, more protection for the long snapper on field-goal attempts and a restriction on blocks in the back on punts. Another proposal would limit the referee's review time on replays from 90 to 60 seconds.

Vito Stellino, of the Florida Times-Union, reports one of the decisions the next commissioner must make is whether to play more regular-season games on foreign soil. The league talked about playing a game in London this fall but scrapped the idea because it was too busy working on a new collective bargaining agreement. Current commissioner Paul Tagliabue is a big supporter of growing football's popularity by playing games in new locations, but not many teams are willing to give up home dates as the Arizona Cardinals did last year.

Hunt said, "It has merit for everybody, not just the Kansas City Chiefs. It creates more interest in more cities. That's the main thing. It is easier to sell tickets when you can say you were a playoff team." Hunt has pushed for more postseason teams before and it was met with plenty of resistance. It is likely it will again this time around. Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay, who is also the co-chairman of the NFL's competition committee, said, "I'm not sure the sentiment has changed a lot."

They feel eight or nine players could be dangerous and are considering a requirement for teams to have at least four players on each side of the ball.
