These articles are boring and are only entertaining in proportion to the talent of the writer, so Edge: Kornheiser.

I grew up in DC and have lived elsewhere as an adult, first in Chicago, later, and mostly, in Boston. And I am amused (and by amused, I mean irritated and annoyed) at how people confuse the itinerant windbags who come from their states to DC with the accountants, doctors, carpenters, salepeople, municipal workers, waiters, cab drivers, bank tellers, lawyers, and plumbers who make up 99.9% of the population of the DC metropolitan area and whose residency does change with the party of the current administration. The people who befoul the good name of our nation's capital from places like Califorinia (Nixon) and Illinois (Rostenkowski) and Texas (DeLay) and, of course, the sodden state of Washington (Bob "I love the way these gals shake their butts after I've had five whiskey rocks" Packwood).

There is plenty to tease Washington, DC about - Marion "That bitch set me up" Berry, DC's inability to hold on to a baseball team (and, having finally gotten one, putting it as risk by not honoring previous agreements), exploding manhole covers, mustard gas canisters buried in our backyards (and by our backyards, I mean your backyards), the Washington Wizards (remember Elvin Hayes? that was great), the Washington Capitals (remember Rod Langway, that was great), and our inability to drive in the snow.

But the misbehavior of people who come from their own states, that is no laughing matter.

Except to us.
