Re: The Spitting Ejection

I didn't get to watch the entire game at work and I get home to find out my vcr crapped out of recording the game about 20 freakin seconds into it :screama: , but I had multiple groups of people, some skins fans and some weren't, coming into work after the game was over and say the exact same thing: the ref wasn't even looking in the direction of the players when the supposed spitting took place. If he really did it, while it's kind of a chicken wussie way reason to eject someone it is the rules, but some type of punishment should have been given to Pittman for swinging and connecting with Sean Taylor's head. the fact that there wasn't a call on that is I think what has so many of us pissed off about this. And while I definitely do not condone spitting in someone's face, in as nasty a sport as football, that's a pretty weak way to eject someone from a playoff game. If it had been into the face of a ref like Alomar did a few years back for the orioles, it would deserve an immediate ejection and multiple week suspension.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Cry me a river...Isn't Pittman the guy who beat the hell out of his wife?

Taylor shouldn't have spit on him, he should of taken a big dump and thrown it in his face.

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! LOSERS STAY HOME, WE'RE OFF TO SEATTLE!

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Couple points:
We still do not know 100 percent what happened and if he really did spit, best bet is to ask Pittman.

If Sean Taylor did NOT spit then why was he NOT angry when he left the stadium and after the call. If I truly did not spit on someone and was being kicked out for it, then I would get mad and tell my coachs and be upset, ST seemed niether.

If ST did actually spit, then he made a huge mistake by telling GW he did not. That is an almost Marcus Vick like "fake apology"(publicly lying).

I personally think he did not, but I guess thats my opinion as a Skins fan.

Here's what Pittman said

"There was a lot of trash-talking the whole time," Pittman said. "He spit in my face, no man is going to spit in my face. I have a lot of respect for Sean Taylor, but no respect no more. My initial reaction was, just hit him in the face. He'd be a lot worse if it was on the street."

ooohhhh, so tough. I wonder if he was putting on his Hanes ribbed beefy "wife beater" tank top on as he said that.

Matty I'm surprised, you usually keep a pretty level head about this. It's SPIT! Let me ask you, what is worse: spitting on someone, or punching someone?

Both acts are dirty, true. But one is designed to hurt, the other is just disgusting. I guess for me, I just don't understand what the big deal is about being spit on.

And that's assuming that it actually HAPPENED! Since all we saw was a head-bob, it's very likely that ST just called Pittman a PuSSy, or some other very percussive-sounding word that resulted in some inadvertent saliva.

This was not a Romanowski loogie, and anyone who is claiming so is overreacting, just as the ref did. If it was a major spit, it would have shown up on camera. If there was any spit at all, it was small enough to get missed by the cameras.

I'm not so much defending Sean Taylor as I am attacking the refs. In the playoffs, you LET THE PLAYERS PLAY. And who the f*ck wants a bunch of prim and proper p*ssies on their defense anyway? I for one am glad Sean Taylor is rough around the edges, it's part of what makes him so intimidating. If you think that's not an asset to his play, then you're naive. And if you think that spits don't happen all the time, then that's naive too. Especially in the playoffs.

But in the end, who really cares. I highly doubt ST will be suspended, so no harm done. If his public image is damaged, I just don't give a f*ck. He's a great player for my favorite team, and classless or not, that's all that matters to me. But I was brought up here in Philly, so maybe that explains why I feel the way I feel about it.

DON'T OVERREACT. IT'S JUST SPIT! IT DOESN'T HURT!

The ref was THERE!!! He wouldn't just make it up. He has bosses to answer to and Carey is one of the best. He would not have called the penalty if it did not happen. I can't believe some of us are swearing that because we could not see it on our high def TV's that it did not happen. Wrong is wrong and Sean was WRONG!!!
